Hey, i just remembered the article MM&FF had called "The Early Cat Catches The Bird". I re-read it and was stunned to find that the Thunderbird Super Coupes haad a supercharged 3.8 liter V-6all the way up to 1995. What I was wondering is will a supercharger from a Super Coupe work on a 98 V6 Mustang w/o having serious modifications? And if it can work, what kind of power boost can I expect from the stock 150 hp? Thanks in advance to all repliers!

Since '96 is the first year of the modular V8, you'd have to get a custom intake to make it work. If you got the fab skills, it might be doable. If not, you're probably better off going in a different direction.

Thank you gclark for your response. Yes, I know that, but did the 3.8 liter V6 change? Did Ford use the same 3.8 V6 in the Thunderbird Super Coupe as they did in the base Mustang? I want to know if the Eaton M90 supercharger on the Super Coupes anywhere from '93-'95 would be able to fit on my 3.8 liter Mustang. The engine layout looks exact and the Eaton website says that that M90 model is ideal for 3.0 - 4.0 liter engines. Thanks for the info in advance!!!!

What was I thinking? I answered for a V* engine?! I'm completely insane.
Sorry about that.
In a nutshell the answer is yes. Check out this article from the Oct. 2005 issue about a 3.8L V6 Mustang that ruyns 10.60s... http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/features/mmfp_0510_v_6_powered_mustang/
Also, check out this site for more info about the 3.8L.... http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/features/mmfp_0510_v_6_powered_mustang/
Sorry about the confusion.

That's alright. Thanks for the link to the article. It was very informative. According to that article, if I can get a crankshaft from an F-150 V6, and put it into my 3.8 Mustang, liter output would go up to 4.2 liters (262 cubic inches) with stock bore. That's really awesome! Thanks again!!!
