ok, I keep reading how the estimated 1/4 mile times for my car are 13.9 or 13.7. I took it to the track bone stock, the best I could pull was a 14.01. Since then, I added Flowmasters (I know, no help), cold-air intake and did the SCT computer tune. Now my current best is 13.60, which isn't too shabby in my opinion.
Has anyone gone faster bone stock, or are the numbers Ford estimates are just a wild guess?

I'd say those are good #s. I don't own one of these cars, nor have I ever driven one. However I did get next to a couple last year in Denver at Bandimere Speedway and I recall those bone stock GTs were running 14.9 - 15.01. Have fun!

I just ran my 06 and had a traction limited 13.8. I would spin all through 1st and 2nd with the traction control off. With TCS on I would spin pretty good 1, 2, 3rd shifts but was able to control it easier. The track was slick, been raining for weeks and earlier in the day. I felt like 5/10ths could have been shaved if it was warmer and the track was dryer. Everyone there said they were 5/10ths to 8/10ths slower. I'll be back in a few months and let you know.
I raced a guy in an 03 GT, he had an off road h pipe, flowmasters, drag radials, eaton posi with 3.55 and SCT chip. I beat him, barely, I missed second gear and still ran him down. He ran 6/10ths slower than he usually did.

Thanks for the info. Have you done anything to your car or are you stock? I feel like my car is faster on the regular pavement. I got times from two different drag strips, and the first one was a hell of a lot more sticky than the second. I haven't tried a pass with the traction control on, but will give it a try and see what happens.
I ran with a guy in an 03 who had a K.B. S/C and he never completely left me...I say that was driver error, he should have waxed my butt!

JBA equal length shorties, Borla axle back, JLT intake with SCT tune, Pro 5.0 Shifter, Steeda Motor Mounts.
I'm considering a ZEX wet kit, but I could probably save money and just get a S/C in a couple years.
I have the BFG KDWS tires that don't grip all that great on the track.

I've been curious about headers, this engine seems to respond well to intake mods, and by your numbers, looks like exhaust mods work equally well.
A Vortech S/C is in the future plans, must wait for my divorce to be final before making that purchase. I'm going with the intercooler, since I live in high humidity.
I want to get a set of drag radials and see if I can crack off a low 13 run.

Not sure when the next time I'll get to run will be. Probably in the next few months. I'm getting lots of cash from overtime checks and I'm just going to set it aside for when the warranty runs out. A supercharger is in the plans. Drag radials would be nice. Let me know if you get some.
I have JBA's shorty equal length. Shop around and you will find'em for $450+-. You will need a lift and second pair of hands. Make sure you order motor mounts from steeda of you get headers. You will need them.
Where you at?

I KNOW drag radials would help me out big time, just wonder how much? 1/2 a second? More? I swear, if I crack of a run anywhere in the 12's, I'll pull over jump out and jack it in front of everybody! Especially in an almost stock car!
I'm in New Orleans, but have been to the strip in Gulfport, MS and in Cecil, GA. Cecil's track is much nicer, more sticky. Gulfport was in bad shape when I ran the 13.60, I think I would have had a low 13 run if I were in Cecil.
I've got a lift I can use and a couple sets of extra hands when I need them. My in-laws in FL have a lift and are major gear heads! (Cecil, GA is the closest strip to where my sister lives.)

I'm near Fresno, CA. The track I raced at was in redding, CA my home town. My GT is white. I'm planning on having blue stripes painted on possibly next week. If and when it's done, I'll post a picture. It should look pretty good. The shop does quality work.

I'd like to see a pic when you get that finished.
I was looking online last night at drag radials...looks like around $600 for two wheels and tires. Not too bad. Only down side is I don't have anywhere to keep anything. (going through divorce)

Something to think about. If your back tires are not the same diameter as the front, it will mess with your traction control. So you will either have to drive with it off or buy tires that are the same diameter. You need to look at the revolutions per mile. Most of the tire web sites have this info available. I'm waiting for the tires I have to wear out or come into some money (which I have but my wife doesn't know about). When they do, I'm going to buy the BFG drag radials, 265/40/18 and BFG G-force sport 245/14/18 for the front. The revolutions per mile were slightly different by 4 or 5 but they will work.
When I did my last few races, I kept the traction control on. The track was so slick, I couldn't go WOT on shifts or through 2nd gear. With TCS on, it would come on briefly when I shifted 1st, 2nd and 3rd then hook and take off like a raped ape.
There was a guy there in a black GT auto, he kept running mid 16's. He would spin most the way down the track. I told him to try with the TCS on. He never did and never ran less than 14. I'm looking forward to my turn when the track is dry and may have some drag radials. Just a little worried about my clutch with the drag radials.

I plan on continuing to use the same tires the car came with, I like the way they handle and so far have held up to my driving style. (I've had 10 drag runs on these tires and they are holding strong with no excessive wear.)
I will only use the drag radials while at the track and sadly, due to current circumstances, won't be able to afford to go to FFW in Belle Rose on the 5th of May....I'm VERY bummed about that!
When I am able to get the drag radials, I'm going with the g-force T/A drag radials also, and I've got the same worries that you do, what's it going to to my drivetrain? I know slicks will find the weak point and cause all hell to break loose.
I haven't taken a pass with the TC on, but will give it a try in May when I go again. I was hoping to have the drag radials, but money is not looking good.
There was a post earlier about an 05/06 running 16's...the fact that he/she was in Denver (altitude) may explain those high ET's. I forgot to mention this earlier, but I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that has "missed" second gear. Never third, but sometimes it won't drop into second!

I'm hoping the next time I go run, the track will be in better condition. Even the guys with 10.5" slicks couldn't getthe front wheels off the ground because of track conditions. Hopefully in June I'll be able to get up there and run again. I have some friends heading to Bakersfield on the May 12th, but I'll be picking my car up from the paint shop.

The reason why it won't go into second is probably that drive by the computer crap. They did that to lessen the chance of parts breakage so once you get rid of that bug, try it again and see if it works right.
