The first Ford I ever owned was a '66 Fairelane GTA 390cuin 335bhp same color sceme as my present car.
That's not a coincidence though.
My Fairelane had Headman "shorty" headers and I slapped a set of Keystones on the front. Some extended shackles on the back springs, wide ovals "pollyglass" tires on the rear. White with black interior and side stripes.
It held it's own 'till those 440 magnums started showing up. I could usually put a holeshot on them and hold them boys till about 50 feet from the trapps, and those tall cubes would rebuff my efforts by about a half carlink.I needed to figure out something fast. I just drew a 166 in the lottery. (DRAFT) I'm goin to NAM!There aim't no way I'm leaving this town with my head hung in shame, playing second fiddle to a set of Dodge taillights.

Hello sunkiststang,
Is the Mach 1 yours? If so congratulations,if not the V6 is quite  powerful.
In Fast Fords and Muscle Mustangs Mag there have been many articles on sick horsepower #'s being spun-up on the Dyno-Jet.
In my threads I don't pretend to be or do anything exceptional. At least of my own. The time frame when "First Ford" took place was a long time ago. My intention is to kind of introduce myself as well as to share what a bitchin' ride my "FF" was then and would today if it were here. Without any changes whatsoever.
Thanks for taking the time to write something. Your response is my first, how cool is that? Way cool!
Maby I'm a little too long winded, but it just reveals my robust enthusiasm for Fords in general and Mustangs in particular.(all ford family) Wow, I'm gonna have to think about that.
If you're interested I'm going to post the last installment to the Fairelane "First Ford". You gotta remember, I'm going to Nam and there's a lot of life to live before...  well whatever.
