I have modified 95 Mustang GT for Drag Racing. Problem is I cannot get this engine to stop searching for a idle constant surging. Somedays it will settle down at 850 rpm (rare) usually runs at idle between 750 - 1500 rpm or quits. If I hold the engine a 2000 rpm slowly lower to 1500 to 1100 it will stay at 1100rpm (sometimes)I am wondering if someone else has had this problem and could give me some advise on how to fix the problem. I like to do all my own work so I would like if you don't get to techinal. As I have just started this hobby a 56 but a total dummy either. Thank you

Sounds like you may have a problem with the throttle body like I did. I don't know about the 95s but my 06 did that after I took the throttle body apart. It seems that there is a preload spring in the throttle body that has to be turned 180 degrees counter clockwise until it locks into place. Have you messed with the throttle body at all? If so there is a dust cover that snaps out on the side of the body and you can access the spring with a pair of pliers. If not that, it may be the idle air control is crudded up with carbon and needs to be cleaned.
Good Luck!
