MY 2006 MUSTANG GT AUTO THAT IS STOCK RAN ITS BEST TIME OF 13.4 AT 103 MPH ON A COOL NOV. DAY AROUND 60 DEGREES. HOW EVER IN HOT SUMMER WEATHER 90 DEG IT CONSISTENTLY GOES 13.5 TO 13.7 ALL NIGHT.

I just got back from the track with my bone stock 2006 GT 5 speed.  I couldn't get into the 13s to save my life.  I have a bunch of 14.1 timeslips at 100-101mph.  Does anyone know the best launch technique for these cars?  I was running the factory tires (w/ 48k miles on them)  and I couldn't launch without heavy spin, bogging or bad wheelhop.  Are my worn out tires my worst problem here? It was a cool night 55-60 degrees.  My best 60 ft time was 2.21, is that respectable for a stocker?

Ran yesterday, best time was 13.55 at 104 mph.  Cool overcast day.  2005 GT with Steeda CAI and Magnapak exhaust system.  Running General UHP Exclaims, 275/40-18.  Found the best run warming the tires a bit, turned off the traction control, left the tranny in drive and launched at 1600. No spin at the line.  Best 60 was 1.91  Beat a 06 GTO on last run so that made my day.  Next year hoping to get some drag radials and upgrade to 3.73 gears, see if that will get me in the low 13's.

I ran last week around 72 degrees out, my best up here in michigan was a 13.41 at 106. My mods are in previous post. Thats without powershifing and using 18in street tires

Mosherd, if you haven't changed your gears to 3.73 and tuned your car to take off the redline you won't be able to get into 13's. You need to take the quarter mile in 3rd. without those changes your car makes you shift into 4th

Ford gave us the car to work with. Have fun modding with whatever path you choose. Cause these Automatic GT's are a breeze to get in into the 10's in the 1/4 mile pretty easily when using a Saleen Supercharger.

Since I started the thread I figured I'd update.  My car now has a JLT intake w/SCT tuner by Evolution Performance,a Bassani X pipe w/cats, Frpp Stingers, and a BMR radiator support/sway bar delete.  It ran a 13.18 @ 105.9mph which I couldn't be happier with...yes it was a awesome, cold day.  Anyway now I'm shooting for 12's with my stock gears...thinking about Mickey Thompson's, and an aluminum driveshaft.

First test and tune of the year for me up in the Seattle area, and I have my best times so far. Last bolt ons were the under drive pullies, charge motion delete plates, and an aluminun drive shaft. 12.88 and a 12.82 @ 106 mph. Best 60' time was a 1.78. Other bolt on,  cold air kit, 4:10 gears, X pipe, MT drag radials
