Weld in is the way to go. Bolt in connectors don't help much. I would suggest making sure the unibody is straight first (or as close as you can get) before stiffening it up..otherwise you're just reinforcing the problem.

get full length subframes and get the cross braces with them. strut towner braces help out alot too.

maximum motorsports full length subs (welded) are the way to go, and as "barthygt" pointed out, a strut tower brace is key. i would recommend maximum motorsports for that piece as well (yes, i am a fan). check ebay to get cheaper prices than you can get from the manufacturer. also: be sure of the shop you have install the subs. i went to a shop an hour out of my way (chevy chase, md) because they were "recommended" by the manufacturer, and the job they did was awful. the welds were gobby, they burnt through the subframe in spots...the job overall was terrible. i even went back to get them to fix the problem (another couple of day's inconvenience)and got no satisfaction. rely on recommendations from people you know!

I have a 93 cobra, with some mild bolt ons. Do you guys think its unwise to put subframes and strut braces on a collectable like this?
