Ah, personally i would not go with that. I have a superchip in my 95 gts. I know they are pretty good and so is Diablo chips,or sniper chips, but if i am not mistaken there is alot more for your car and they come in a thing called a programer and you just plug that in and program the ecu to what ever you want usaully they have pre set codes for your car such as gas saver, street, or strip.. i do not know much about them but i know there is a crap load of them. If i was you just pick up a muscle mustangs and fast fords mag they have some in there.

I own an 03 gt, and I recommend for someone just starting out to get a programmer. A lot of the tuning aspects have already been sorted out for you for mildly modified to stock vehicles. That way you don't make a mistake and frag your motor. Now if your ride is running a power adder or nitrous a multi tuned chip is probably the best bet. It allows you to hold multiples tunes for multiple situations. IE you are sitting at a stop light and little boy import rolls up and your car is running a gas saver tune, all you gotta do is flip a switch to a different hot tune, like if you run nitrous and let him get high off your exhaust as you blow him by. But even those have it's drawbacks such as the time and money needing to be spent on the individual tunes. I personally own a diablosport predator. It is easy to use and pretty much a plug and play deal. I like it. It allows me to tune just about everything the way I want it, and it cost me nothing to change it whenever I feel like it. Where as if you buy a chip and you want to change the tune, you have the added cost of getting it re-burned and the dyno time need to get the desired result. Ultimately it is up you and your budget. I say get a tuner. And if you are looking for the best tuner out there I recommend SCT Livewire. It comes pre-programmed for multiple different tunes due to which octane gas you are running. Including a gas saver tune. It calculates hp and quarter mile times. Gives you live up to date A/F ratio, and you can change the tune on the fly.

I own a 03 GT and have also been interested in getting some kind of tuner. I was interested in SCT's Livewire tuner and after going to their site i found out that for about $550 all you are going to get is 15 Hp. I dont know about you but for that much money i would expect more, but it is the good tuner that you can change several setting on the car such as gears, see 1/4 times and est. Hp. They also claim to increase fuel mileage 1-2 mpg. I think they are more benificial if you have a modified motor. So all and all if you do get a tuner definatly stick with a name brand one like the ones listed above. Good luck Oh, if you want the most bang for your buck you should start with the basics like aftermarket pulley sets, they are supposed to be worth around 10-15 Hp. Or maybe try a cold air intake for about the same.

HI, I have a hypertech tuner and I hate it. It works pretty good when its in but its the half hour that it takes to rewrite the computer that I hate. I have nitrous and I got asked to race and couldn't use the nitrous cause I didn't have the time to reprogram my car. I would go with something a little faster. They have flash tuners now. I guess I need some kind of switch chip.

I just grad. high school last year and one of the things my Auto Mech teacher told me is that a lot of the chps on the market today just throw your computer into reserve mode. This is a factory installed program that engages when your check engine light comes on so that the car will run good enough and long enough to make it into the shop. It will seem like your getting more Horsepower and less gas mileage because it sets the computer into one set program and doesn't allow anything to change (it assumes the air intake, temp, and exhaust are all one set number and just dumps the fuel in at that rate only.
