Need A Little Help

I've got a 1985 Mustang GT, with T-top and 5.0L. It's in pretty bad condition, but I'm hoping to sell it to someone that will restore it. I would do it myself but I don't have the money or the time right now. I really don't want to part with it because I've fought with my father for it for years and he finally gave it to me, but unfortunantly I have to due to current circumstances.

I need a couple questions answered so I can find out about how much I can get for it. Can anyone help me out?

Basically I just need to know:
How many of the 85 Gt's Were made? (I found one stat saying that there were 42,428 produced in that year)
Out of those, how many had T-tops?(This is the main question I need answered.)What was the ARP (average retail price) for them?(This is so I know what they were originally sold for when they were made)
About how much will a restored one go for now?(How much are you going to sell a restored one for?)
About how much money is often put in to restoring this year/model?(To factor in whether or not they'd make something, or if its worth selling)
What all commonly needs to be replaced when restoring them?(some of the stuff on mine has already been replaced, but alot of people are saying they had to replace their seals, what else?)

That's all I need for now, but if someone can help me out, it'd make selling this alot easier for me, and whoever buys it. If you don't want to reply here, you can message me on Myspace or email me at cherrylipedandrogyny@yahoo.com.

I would really appreciate it.

just a quick reply - t-tops are desireable, but not necessarily "rare". it's also an '85, and while prices on fox bodies are going up, they're not really worth what people are asking. my advice: go to ebay and see what a similar car in similar condition is going for, and set your price accordingly. I bought a '93 GT with 65K miles and a sunroof for 6K two years ago. considering the mileage and condition of the car (garage kept, dealer serviced), i thought it was a good deal. i bought an '88 5.0 LX four years ago (130K miles, dealer serviced great condition) for 3K, and i thought that was a good deal as well. lots of factors to consider. "5.0 mustangs & fast fords (?)" did a build on the exact kind of car you are describing, so you could also check their online archive to see what they paid for their car.
