I still haven't checked on that. I screwed around on that site for a little while the other day and didn't find anything. I think I might just wait for a custom tune. I dropped it off today to get it painted. I'll be deprived for two weeks. Oh well, my wife has endorced the project so I shouldn't complain.

I ordered the BFG T/A drag radial 2's today...that left a mark on the wallet, but I know it will be SO worth it! I was reading about the tires on different cars from the Tire Rack website, some people reported 5 - 7 tenths difference in 1/4 mile times...if that's the case, I'm going to break into the 12's (I hope)...remember what I said earlier, it might actually happen! (you'll read about me in the magazines, the guy that got arrested for pulling on himself after a high 12 sec run!)
Next weekend in Belle Rose, LA is Fun Ford Weekend...I'm going! I've been told it's a good time. I'll enter true street and see what happens, depends on what these tires do, might be able to average a 13 flat. I could only hope!

As another True Streeter, it IS a blast. The best part is actually the 30 mile cruise. To have about 100 others rumbling all around you and after the parade to go 3 passes down the quarter makes the price worth it.

RIGHT ON! I only have one (rather dumb) question...am I going to be able to make a few passes to see what these drag radials can do before the "main event"? I'm really looking forward to Saturday, I'm like a kid at christmas...and I swear, If I get in the 12's I'll go to jail!

That, I don't know because you'll really want to get through the tech procedure and get your number first. If you don't get to test them first, try about a 3000 rpm launch and slip the clutch. But just don't boil the tires. Do it just until they smoke over then drive out of it. Overdoing the burnout will make them slick, not sticky because too much heat brings the oils and resins up to the tread surface. Maybe try getting to the track before Saturday...

Hey Eagle another burn out question. I have the BFG KDWS tires and when I was getting ready to do my burn out, the guy lining me up would back me up to the water box, not into it but just enough to get my tires wet. I would do a second gear burn out, then go. I've read not to get into the water unless you have slicks or drag radials. I guess I don't need to heat up my tires, just scrub them good and go? A little help would be nice.

I called the FFW folks about taking a couple passes before the True Street event, and there will be time trials that will allow me time to see what the tires can do.
I called the Tire Rack today, they recommend 22 psi for drag racing and lower as I think I need to.
If you know what will work better, PLEASE let me know!

You'll just have to find what your car work best at. Try the 22 psi and go from there. The pressure can be affected by sunlight, temperature, humidity and then if you just drove the 30 mile cruise. Just find out what works for you but make sure both sides are the exact same because that can make you go all over the track. And to the UFO alien, the reason you may not want to drive through the water and do a dry burnout is so the water won't get into the treads, either on the back but mainly in the fronts. The treads hold water and then dumps them at the starting line which cause tire spin for you and everybody behind you. If you could go around the water box then back into it, that would be the best for street style tires.

Cool. That's what I do. There is enough room to go around the water box and back up to it.
Is it normal for there to be alot of debris (asphalt, rubber and etc.) in the burnout area? I saw guys with brooms clearing the lanes after each burnout. People would do their burnout and throw crap everywhere.

I went to the track tonight...my best time was a 13.69, that's worse than it was on the stock tires! I didn't do much of a burnout, but hope it will get better with time. I'm going to go to FFW early and make as many passes as I can so I can get in the low 13's. I'm hoping that the track has a lot to do with that. I started at 22 PSI, then took it to 18, couldn't get any quicker.
I'm not going back to the track until Saturday for FFW...any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated.

Did anyone else say they were having slower ET's? The day I went they said the track was in bad shape. Did your MPH change? or your 60ft time. My MPH was 102.8 and 102.6 for my two best MPH.

I didn't ask anyone last night, but people were hitting their dial-ins fairly well, only a few breakouts.
I'm not going to sweat it yet, I'll wait and see what happens when I go to FFW and get on that track. I was still spinning those drag radials, so I'm assuming that the track wasn't that great, again.

It's chunks of burnt tire that's up there. The track guys should clean it off after every car so you shouldn't have that to worry about. Chances are that you'll have some stuck up under the rear bumper and on your pipes after a good burndown. If you do, Geddex makes this spray for your paint and pipes that allows you to just wipe the rubber off without damaging the finish.

It took me over an hour to clean off all the rubber from my burnouts. I used a tar/bug remover, kind of smeered it around. I'll try that stuff. I would assume most car stores would have it?

Maybe... you might have to order it from a speed shop or from Summit or Jegs. As long as the store you go to carries Geddex, they should have it and I think it's called Burnout Guard.
