Evening people. I just bought a 2008 Mustang GT and am wondering what can I do to the engine to make it go faster. In other words more horsepower. I'm not a grease monkey nor a motor head so I will have to take it to a mechanic to do the upgrades. I just want to get an idea that way I know what I'm talking about when the time comes. Any suggestions???

What are you going to use it for (daily, in city or on highway, drag, open track, etc), how much are you looking to spend and how much do you want out? You need to ask yourself those questions before you can decide what route to take.
Big Thanks to my friends at KR Performance and Restoration out of Nebraska

For the most part its going to be for daily use. The highway will come as well since I'm going to leave to Georgia in a while. So I'm thinking something to juice it up. As for money I am in a budget but still want to find my options so later on I ca run numbers.

Two easiest mods- tuner and cold air kit. I added both to my 2007 Mustang GT and it ran 12.98 at 106.5. Granted, the air was outstanding but the car is awesome. The S197 Mustangs suffer greatly from Ford's torque management system. Think of it this way, they give us 300 horsepower but don't let us use it! The programmer will keep the computer from raining on your parade. The car drives much nicer around town as well as when you romp on it. If it is an automatic car, it is even better with great shifting under WOT.
Another cheap mod is to do a set of rear gears. You will need a handheld programmer to modify the computer so the speedometer reads properly with the bigger cogs out back.
Have fun!

My '07 Stang? Awesome. It just ran 12.98 at 106.57 the other day at Englishtown. The only thing I hate, damn dirty New Jersey Turnpike! I have a few battle wounds from rocks and the car isn't even a year old. Ugh.
