I am looking for some advice about the intake side of my mustang. I have a 95 GT with a 5.0 and T5. It has 93,000 miles and the current mods are BBK equal lenght shorty headers, BBK off-road X pipe, Flowmaster American Thunder 2 1/2" exhuast. The original owner I bought it from put an underdriven crank pulley on, a K&N performce kit and a Hypertech chip. He couldnt find the paperwork on the chip but said it had to run 93 octane. I had some problems with spark knock and switched the thermostat to a 160 and it took care of the problem. My question to everyone is I'm thinking of putting a C&L true inlet and 76mm mass air meter for the stock injectors and a 70mm bbk throttle body. The car is getting 3.73 gears and an aluminum driveshaft for sure. Does anyone know if the mass air and throttle body will be worth the money spent ?  I don't expect a huge improvement but C&L claims like 12 hp at the rear wheels and bbk says 12 for their throttle body. I'm thinking maybe 15hp total between the two mods. Does anyone know if that sounds right and if it's a good mod ? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I wouldn't go over a 65mm throttle body on a stock intake manifold.  I think any larger than that requires you to enlarge the opening on the intake to make a 70mm or larger TB.
If you are planning on doing more mods later that would require the 70mm, I would go ahead and the the intake manifold along with it now.
If these mods are as far as you are going to go for the forseeable future I would size it down to a 65mm body.

Thanks, If you changed intake's which one do you like for these cars ? I was thinking about going with a trick flow intake. I like the looks of the cobra intake, but don't think it will fit under my stock hood.

I like the trick flow, one of the better values in my mind.
Professional Products is the least expensive and is basically just a rip off of the Edelbrock.
Holley systemax II is a decent design but if you are going to pay for the best design I say go for BBK.
I have never understood the demand for the Cobra intake, it is only very slightly less expensive than the TFS intake but it is a drastically inferior design of round ports versus every other design uses rectangular.
Don't forget that for the '95 you need an adapter elbow to hook it all up.  Trick Flow sells one in summit for about $90 I believe.
