Hi,
I have a 2006 GT with a STS turbo about 6.5 lbs of boost. The other day it broke a rod under acceleration . I want to make sure this doesn't happen again. I was wonering if there is anyone out there that has had the same problem and what solution they have come up with. I read a little info on the 4.6L aluminator crate engine is anyone running this motor and how is its durability. Looking for a 4.6L motor build that will handle the boost without breaking . Any info. you have would be greatly appreciated.

The local speed shop did the install tuned the turbo kit. I am thinking that might have been the problem but the shop is out of business, Hmm. Looking for someone in Northern Calif. with experience in this area. Have any suggestions? Also looking for an engine builder. I have been informed by Ford Racing Products that the best avenue to take now is order a new block and rebuild it with forged crank, rods, and pistons.

A forged rotataing assembly is ALWAYS a good idea with forced induction.
We might be able to help. Shoot me an email to chris@brgracing.com

The Aluminator blocks are plenty durable. Justin Burcham just ran in the 8s with his full weight '05 Mustang using one. I suspect you could get a built short-block from Coast High Performance as well. Not sure about any California tuners, let alone one in northern Cali.
