I posted this originally in a column way, way down below, didn't get a reply so I thought I'd try here. Here's my problem, When I'm driving and my RPM's are around 2600 or higher (and doing at least 40), if I push the clutch and don't engage in a gear before the car revs to 700rpm or so, the tach needle drops and the engine dies. It doesn't seem to do it when I'm on 30mph type streets. But If I'm doing 55mph at a higher RPM, and am approaching say a red light, so I push the clutch in, and slow down without moving down through the gears, it will stall. If while holding the clutch in, I move the gears down 3rd, then, 2nd, it does just fine. And other times, it stops at idle just fine, which makes this more confusing... The car idles and drives fine accept for that. I did clean the IAC, but didn't look like it needed it (car only has 23K on it) Ive checked the TPS and voltages are correct there too. There are also no dtc codes present. Does this happen in any of your mustangs? Do you guys/girls know what might be causing this?

What year is your car? The EEC-V in the '94 - '95 5.0's have a lot of problems.

I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that. It's a 2004 4.6L SOHC

ooooooooo, that is a new one. I haven't heard of a lot of idle trouble with the sohc motors. Have you done any mods to the car?

The only mods that were on the car when the problem started was a Flowmaster catback, BBK x pipe W/O cats, K&N filter and Roush Shaker Hood System.
