i was looking to put an x pipe on my 06 saleen and a set of 44 flowmaster mufflers and i was just wondering if anyone has changed their exhaust and what they did about running it out of the back in the center like it comes. did you cut and weld or does someone make something to fit after market mufflers you can put on with out having to cut the one that came with the car up

nothing constructive to contribute - but why would you want to mess with the setup you have? saleen knows what he is doing! if you're going for the less restrictive x-pipe, then do it. but please don't lose the center-exit exhaust! would definitely de-value the car

sorry - just re-read your question and realized that you don't want to eliminate the center-exit exhaust. pretty sure the mufflers on the car are as good as any after-market parts you will find though. and the x-pipe should bolt right up.

I have an 03 GT. I was running a BBK off road X with a set of 44's. I don't recommend the combination of an x pipe and Flowmasters they sound better with an H-pipe. Around 2000 rpm you will experience a horrendous drone. Needless to say I have since sold the 44's and am currently running SLP's loud mouth II. I have found that the modulars motors they sound much deeper and have more of a growl with a straight through muffler like a resonator. But if you are still gonna try. Flowmaster still does not offer them in a kit of any sort. I actually called them before I purchased them and they haven't gotten that far yet. I had to have them installed into the factory system at the local muffler shop.

I have an 07 GT and am currently using bbk tuned length ceramic headers, Bassani x-pipe with hi-flow cats, and the axle back flowmaster mufflers. I have had an H-pipe setup, and have to say, I do not like the way they sound. With the setup I currently have, the exhaust is clean, it is higher pitched, and sounds very aggressive. I had a similar setup on my 98 cobra, and it wast just very nasty, and mean sounding. I am a big fan of x-pipes. I saw a horse power TV episode on x-pipe versus h-pipe, and the results favored the X-pipe. MM&FF did an article about five years ago with the same comparison. They gave the good and bad of both, but the side leaned toward the x-pipe. I think the right muffler combo is def. something you should research first. I just happen to like a certain sound, and I got it with the setup I have, and love it. I have also got to say it was the easiest install on exhaust I have ever done, all clamp on, no welding, unless desired.
