I had a C5 (97-04) auto and I honestly think that an S197 with gears and a tune can run neck and neck with one til about 80-90mph after that the LS1 would pull on it. With a 100 shot the would be no question that the stang would take it.
The combination you put out there can and more than likely would pull on a C6 Z06 depending on boost levels. With forged internals you could be pushing well over 700HP depending on boost levels so provided you had sticky tires on it you could pretty much take most cars on the road. But you are looking at about 12-15K worth of upgrades.

I' have an '05 GT with a 62MM twin throttle body, SLP full exhaust (headers and all) Granatelli coils and a Turbonetics turbo kit at 9psi of boost. Tuned with an SCT livewire. #:55 Gears Just had the car dynoed at 510 RWHP (621 engine hp) So yes it will take most stock C5 and C6 vettes. It will take the Z06 vettes till about 100 mph then it will take you on top end. Now if I put a 100 shot of nitrous a T-56 speed transmission and rebuild the motor. It will eat up a stock Z06. Hence why I named my stang "The Vetter Slayer"

I just sold my 2002 C5 with a bunch of bolt ons, Corsa exhaust and H pipe, LS3 intake manifold with GM 90mm throttle body, Vararam cold air kit, Granatelli MAF, Hurst shifter, etc. The last run I made with it was 12.1 at 119 on street radials. I ran a number of supercharged Mustangs but never knew exactly what else they might have had and never lost to them.
I now have an 08 Mustang Bullitt and it feels strong even though I'm still breaking it in. I want to get this car into the 12s and I will be satisfied. Stock C5s run 13.4s or so. Looking at the 1/4 mile times for most s197s with mild bolt ons, I didn't see any of them into the 12s.
Never underestimate a Corvette...they're fast. I ran mine 4 laps at Nurburgring in Germany and saw 183 on the speedo on the autobahn (legally), beat a lot of Europe's finest, Porsche, Ferrari, Jags, BMWs and AMG Mercedes...honest!
