Off Road pipe

Are there any drawbacks to putting an off road X or H pipe on an 05 GT. Nevermind emissions or the noise, I'm talking drag strip only. I've heard rumors of HP loss because the motor needs the back pressure for the charge motion plates. I've heard you lose bottom but gain top end. Motors leaning out too much, motors running in fail safe, etc. If any of this is true then they can be corrected with a tuner correct? Or is it just pointless to run an off road pipe on these cars? Thx

From what I noticed you loose a lot of low rpm torque but it seems to pull harder higher in the rpm. All the other effects or removing the cats and be corrected with a custom tune.
