The gap on the plug depends on (Comprssion/ignition/Nitrous/Turbo/etc) If your engine is at between 8 and 10:1 compression with the factor ingnition or after market you will be safe at 45 gap. With an after market ignition like MSD coil/Distributor/box run can run this gap with even high compression. Once you start puting nitrous or boost then you start closing the gap.

yeah i do have msd coil and 6al box with 8.8 plug wires. I know a mustang with stock 302 the gap is .54 but i figured there may be a better gap for a stroker. mine has 11:1 compression, so you think the gap should be at .45?

I have the 89 stroker for sale along with an 83 w/308 11.5:1 and I run .35 on a 150 shot. With the MSD you should be good at .45. P.S. if you know anyone looking for a build 10 sec street car have them look at the ad just below yours.
