2 Weeks ago my 2004 GT popped a P0340 code which was dead on, #1 Cylendar Cam Position Sensor failed.  Since that date I haven't been able to bring her home because the light won't stop coming on.  Of course none of the technicians can make it come on after they clear the code but the second I sit in the car and fire it up the check engine light comes on.  A week ago I went into pick her up and when I started the car and the initial idle was winding down the car almost stalled but recovered.  I duplicated it several times for the service advisor but again the technican at Ford can't seem to duplicate it.  My biggest question is has anyone else had this problem and if the sensor has been changed why can't the technician duplicate what happens to me?  By the way my 2004 GT just passed 64,500 miles (99% So Cal highway!).  Anyone's help or suggestions is greatly appreciated!

This may sound weird but take your altenator off and bring it to auto zone to get tested. 99% of the time that code pops up it is a bad alt. For some reason when the alt goes out it creates some kind of magnetic field that disrupts the operation of the cam position sensor.
