Hello all, just a recent Ford newbie now. I bought a 88 Mustang GT 5.0 with a ton of mods, not sure what all is there, Anyhow, I found a small amount of trans fluid underneath the car the other day. It seems to be coming from the output shaft. Is this a common problem with this ? Someone also said about checking the level of the fluid. I was told that 2 full is almost as bad as not enough. Is there a simple way to check with out making a mess? Thanks! Oh and also, I will be eventually looking for possibly 2 new hopefully rust free doors and hatch, I live in NE Ohio so they are kinda rare, lol. Anything else on things to check on these cars would be greatly appreciated.

Over time, the tail shaft seal deteriorates and may need to be replaced. They are pretty easy to do and very affordable from your local parts store.
Contact Delk Performance or MPS Auto Salvage for used replacement parts.

Thanks Steve, that seems to be right where the drip originates. I cleaned everything off the bottom with a rag before I put it away so we will see in the morning. Do you know of any other good websites to find aftermarket exterior parts cheap?
