Anyone familiar with this piece? I'm looking into taking my brothers 95 GT(manual) off of his hands and right now it usually wont get over 35 no matter how hard you press the pedal. Originally, this problem has been going on for quite some time, we changed the fuel pump which didn't help(though we did discover that the wrong fuel pump had somehow been installed by some previous owner) and we also changed the air intake kit(a shot in the dark by us) and mass air flow sensor. The air intake was changed because it will make noises whilst being driven that sounds as if air is getting trapped somewhere and building enough pressure to break free...it sounds something like pop corn I guess but a lot louder (pops once then its quiet for awhile before it pops again), metal can be heard moving in some way shape or form as well when the popping noise occurs. The mass air flow sensor was changed at the recommendation of a professional mechanic...it worked better and I'd say at top condition for awhile but not long at all and it was back doing the same old thing...But I was staring at it one day and noticed that "Rear Crossover Air Injection Pipe" was all rusted and broken off from what is supposed to be connected too. Oh yeah, the noise is coming from(or at least sounds like it is anyway) from the right side of the car which is the side of the broken piece...Obviously this needs to be repaired but does anyone know if this particular piece could be the culprit or does something else seem more likely? Any help would be much appreciated...thanks in advance.

Hey there. by the sounds of it, if you cant get over 35 miles per hour you should probably look into your catalitic converters. if the inside of your converter breaks apart it will make a rattle sound of metal and be fine a some points and at others not even be abe to get out of its own way.

I had the same problem with my stang. And the last thing I checked was the catalytic convertors(6 small ones on my 96)! Anyways, you should be able to pull out your O2 sensors and start it and you will know right away if its the problem! It will wrap up way faster. Just make sure you pull the 2 closer to the engine.
