hello again. I have been pricing out different forged shortblocks, and a 5.4 seems to be cheaper to build. Does anyone know if the smaller parts intercharge between the 4.6 and 5.4 i.e. the cylinder heads, front cover, oil pan, intake manifolds, headers etc. If anyone out there knows what will and will not swap over it would be appreciated. I would like to install the 5.4 because there are signifacantly less emissions stipulations when a non oem block is installed in a vehicle in ontario. I currently have a non-pi 4.6 in my car and with 260,000 km (162,000 miles) on the car and with the turbo it will not likely be long before it grenades on me.
Thanks for all the help

it's a pretty simple drop in. All your questions are answered in my giant 5.4 swap thread at: http://mustangboards.com/modular-4-6l-tech/9238-anyone-intrested-5-4l-swaps-here-need-you-opine-154.html
Heads fit front cover doesn't (use a e-150 or expedition cover) mustang oil pan fits (with a minor beat down on some baffles) adapter plates will let you use 4.6L intakes or you can check www.hiperformancesolutions.com/54.html for info on their about to be released 5.4 mustang intake.
It's pretty hard to tell it's not a 4.6.
www.squarerootofone.com has my build progress. Longtubes are being added right now.
