Hello everyone,
After a long time I've decided to restore my 91 5.0 lx hatchback. It has been in storage for the past 4yrs and during which was never started. The mustang retired at the time because it needed some engine work and we needed a secnd car for the wife. Got the second car and the pony went into temporoary retirement till now.
I went and got a new battery since the previous one was dead. Installed it and the pony seemed to come to life as the car alarm started to go off. We got power!! Wen't to turn the key and it turned over ever so slightly, no go. Tried again and the starter just made a click, no turnover.
What can I do to get it started myself besides the obvious of bringing it to the shop???

I would check the connections @ the battery and at the starter for corrosion and tightness. check for good ground from the battery to the engine and battery to the body. If this fails to assist you, the starter may be slightly siezed and you may need to whack it with a hammer. While hitting the starter get someone to try and start it simultaneously. If this doesn't work check the battery might have got a bad one? Hope this could help
