Alright I'm hoping someone here can help me because I am tired of dealing with the stupid shops here in AR.
I have a 2000 GT Auto, its about to turn 60,000 miles. The only mod to it is a magnaflow cat back, everything else is stock. My problem is after i drive the car for about an hour it wont accelerate without stalling out, or even without it warming up, first drive of the day, if i go full throttle itll start surging and then stall once it reaches like 3600 to 3800 rpm. I took it to a shop and they hooked a code reader up to it and drove it around, it never spit out any codes but when they got on the throttle the reader froze the screen at 3600 to 3800 rpm showing the fuel pressure drop to 18 psi. They couldnt give me an answer on what part/s need to be changed so its sitting in the driveway right now... Anybody have any ideas? I was going to go with the pump, but no one seems to know.

Sounds like either your EFPD or ecu is taking a crap on you. Test the amount of volts going to the pump.

EFPD? The ecu is fine, took it down to the local Ford dealership and they said it was fine but reflashed it for me anyway.

i am having the exact same problem... i had the problem about 2 weeks ago... i have a svt focus pump in my car... 2 weeks ago i put another pump, fuel filter on.... still ran like crap. put a fuel injector pressure regulator "located on drivers side fuel rail" on and it ran great for about 5 days... now its doin the same stuff. so i took regulator back to ford and got another.. no dice... put my old svt pump back in, cleaned sock on pump and bowl. pressure at idle is only 30lbs. i have been told that with a returnless style system "which is what you and i have" that the pressure will fluctuate... waiting on a filter to be brought to me at 5:00 and ill put that on... ill let ya know how that goes. maybe it will help ya
