I have an 87' Mustang GT. I'm putting a 96' V6 Tremec
transmission in it every fits right except the starter.
I'v had my drive shaft cut and rebalanced.
I'v thought about putting 5.0 bell housing on and putting a plate inbettween the trans and bellhousing and using my old starter.

if the problem is the drive gear not meeting up with the flywheel. then you could possible take the drive gear from the 87 starter and put it on the 96 one. you also could comtact someone like ford racing or summitt to see if their tec line could help.
