This is what i've done, Diablo predetor tune, then get steeda underdrive pullies, Steeda.com 3.73 gears, cold air intake, flow master mufflers. Those are the cheapest ways to go. If your running qaurter mile, do the diablo tune, then get the gears .The stock gt makes you shift into 4th, with those changes you ride it out in 3rd. Then get the underdrive pullies, that dropped my time down alot. But if you have 5 grand just by a supercharger

Do the under drive pulleys really make that much of a difference? What brand are you running? I am sure they are all the same to some degree. What time's are you running in the 1/4?

yes, time wise I saw a huge decrease, plus they say it adds 15 to 25hp. my best time was 13.41 at 106, I"m using the stock 18in rims and tires, and I"m not powershifting, I"m up here in michigan. You need to get the tune and gears first, then continue on. I had a blast doing this, change one thing go to the track add something else go to the track, each time I watched my time drop more and more, my times went from 14.3 down to a 13.41. But the pullies drop it alot, oh i'm using steeda underdrive pullies

I have an 07 gt and the first thing I did was put headers on. Helps on takeoff and also top end. I went with shorty pacesetter. they were a *** to put on but well worth the 300.00 bucks. Just a thought, good luck

well, i have an 09 GT and i started with a C&L cold air kit, Pypes x-pipe with cats, and Pypes catback with Violator series turbo mufflers. i did all this while i was home on R&R a week ago so no track run but i did notice a VERY big difference in take-off and throttle response. it also shifted the power band to higher rpm's which is good because i stay on the autobahn (when not deployed) and at those speeds it loses power at 130mph.
WHATS THAT?? I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER MY EXHAUST!!!

I have a shelby GT 07 im in the process of putting a whipple and new aluminum fr500 block new tranny..and alot more.... long story short im running 550hp now and it can handle any hp now that i changed out the stock block but if u go that route ull b spending alot of money.. if u have 4 to 7k buy a blower and get it tuned at 450 ull b fine with that if u dont have the $ then go with a tuner CAI and change the entire exhaust system headers back longtubes r better with hp than shortys... that shouldnt run u more than 2 or 3k and will get u good power.. and maybe think about cam work and some pulleys later

Well if your going to spend about 3k then MMFF did a great story on the livernoise motor sport heads and cams. I am not sure exact hp output but it was about 450ish and you get all the good stuff. Very true muscle car sound plus all natural hp. Course you could add the C&L stuff from cold air to intake with gt500 throttle body and well yeah all the bolt ons. Course that might be more in the 3 to 4k but hey were just throwing our inputs in right. Best of luck.

after u add some of those other upgrades, Meziere electric water pumps are good to keep things cool at the track and can be ordered with an idler pully so you can use the stock belt. It adds 4 - 12 hp. they did an article this month, that they used one in the magazine.

I read the article and don't recall such an increase in hp on the 2010 mustang bolt on write up. But yes it is a good idea if you spend allot of time at the track. Cooler is better.

i have a 2009 shelby 500. i raced my buddy's 07 corvette....and lost!!! we did a first gear 40 punch, (in both our power bands)and he was pulling away from me by high second. my shelby is bone stock and his vette has an exhaust kit. sitting in my garage, i have a jlt cold air kit, whipple 160mm mono blade throttle body, sct tuner, 373 gears, a 2.6 metco pulley, and a jba 3" cat back system. with all these mods and a tune...will i stomp the hell out of him? to put it bluntly...i was shocked that i lost with atleast 60 more rwhp than his 400 rwhp.

I have also tangled with a corvette and kept up with him until about 80mph. He was slowly pulling away, i shut it down at 120mph. My stang is mostly stock except the exhaust from shorties back. Bad matchup due to the 900# difference in weight. But the ricers are fun at 80+, oh yea they are quick to 70mph, but after all that they are still 4 bangers, and act as such after 80mph.
