I installed a pair from Brenspeed. I needed to clip my factory plastic tips to allow the MILS to fit. Very simple. But since the '07 is different from the '05-'06 the check engine light came on after only a couple of hours. Just use your SCT tuner or equiv. to shut it off and save your money on the MILS.

Well it’s been 15 months since I originally posted this post and this week I finally put my off road x on. I went with a 409 stainless steal o/r x pipe from Pypes. Now in those 15 months I’ve haven’t been sitting idle, I’ve done my research on these mil eliminators and wow what a pain in the ass it has been. The first thing I found out is for s197 owners like my self there are not m.i.l. eliminators made for our beloved ponies. States were getting sick and tired of cars rolling threw the emissions testing faculties with off road x’s and passing when you and I know they shouldn’t. I don’t know for sure when they had out law the production of m.i.l. eliminators but I believe it had to be as late as 2004 because that’s the last production year that they were made.  Don’t worry thou I do have good news. Ford has not changed the o2’s or the signal pattern sent to the computers in along long time. So this means that the 1996-2004 m.i.l. eliminators will work on your 2005-2009 mustangs.  I’m not just saying this because I’ve heard about some one doing it or I read some forum saying something that some one else has already said. I’m telling you because I’ve done it on my 2005 mustang gt and it works. I drive on the high way every day to and from work and I beat the piss out of my car and it has never come on, not even a flicker of a check engine light. The cool thing is you can send it threw inspection and its going to pass, well at least threw Delaware (hahahaha).  Now like I said the problem is that they don’t make them anymore, and they haven’t for awhile. You can still find them pretty easily for about $65, but the longer you wait the rarer there going to be. If are looking for a set just look for some made by BBK performance parts, part number 1675. Also unlike the 2004 and lower mustangs you don’t need o2 sensor extensions unless your running long tube headers.

Now there is another way you can turn the check engine light off. All you have to do is buy a programmer like one made by predator or sct, but there expensive. Like some of you out there that after you just spent 200 bucks for the x pipe you don’t want to shell out another 400 bucks for a programmer. If you got the cash more power to yeah and there is you’re the solution you’re looking for. Well I hope all this info has helped some of you out there in mustang land. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Oh bye the way the off road x sounds wicked awesome, couldn’t be happier!

Yes and no that you will pass. It all depends on the state your going through.  For example I live in Delaware and all they do on a newer car is plug into the cars computer and see if there is any codes that can potentially fail your mustang. With mill eliminators its telling your mustangs computer that everything is ok and working properly which in turn you will make your car appear street legal to any diagnostic computer. However how you might fail is because how loud this off road x pipe is going to make your mustang. Some states have a decibel level that your only allowed to go to before your car is going to fail. I think its 98 decibels, which is a lot but this off road x is going to be pretty damn close. So like I said its all depending were you live.

Now for if the 1996-2004 mil eliminators working on your 05-09 mustang. All I got to say is that they will work. I have an 2005 GT mustang and I've put probably 2500 miles on the mil eliminators and also put my car thru inspection and everything worked perfectly. My question for you is that are you just taking the cats out of your car, or are you buying an off road x pipe? In my opinion if your just removing the cats it would probably be cheaper just to go buy an off road x then sending your car to the shop to remove them. The reason why I'm saying this is because the o2 sensors are located in your cats. If you remove them then your removing the mounting holes for the o2s and then you can't use the mil eliminators. Unless your drill a hole and tap some threads in the pipe your replacing the cats with. With an aftermarket off road x the mounting holes will already be there for you to install the o2s. I have no idea how much an exhaust shop would charge for that put you can pick up an PYPES off road x for $170. The install is really easy for some one that’s doesn't have that much experience with turning a wrench.
