Just picked up a 97 Cobra with 110K, I was curious what is a safe oil weight to use?

i use purple 10 30 and have never had a proble in my 97 cobra with the kenny bell 2.1l supercharger its really good stuff but expencive its up to you oem is the fall back so its up to you if u want to stay with a 5 30 you could use purple race 11 its better and what oem calls for

lets really have some fun and power gains mobile one sythetic 0w-30 or even 0w_20 the first number indicates oil thickness at zero degrees ie 5w is 5% thicker at zero 20w is 20% thicker 0w flows the same at zero than at 100 degres so less oil drag when cold the last number is how fast i flows at 100 deg. the lower the number the faster it flows nascar runs 0w-20 to maximize power cause it takes power too pump the oil the thiner the oil the less power it takes to pump and less power it robs from the engine 5w-30 is what it calls for but for it is perfectly safe too run 10w-30 and even 0w-20
we will all have our day in court (tickets suck)
