Not to hijack the post but there is ALOT to doing this swap. I'm going to do this swap in the very near future. I picked up a complete 98 GT donor car and glad I did. You need EVERYTHING well almost for the swap.
boostang98 what year swap are you doing?

Dowlgain,I'm doing a 2000 v6 to 4.6 and unless you have a donor car be prepared to spend $$$$.Do yourself a favor and remember these guys for parts.MPS Mustang parts in Georgia .You have to upgrade your trans, swap your powerbrake booster for hyro boost,All harnesses(possibly dash)ect ect....Alot of work.I also upgraded to tubelar k member(well worth the money)Im almost done waiting on a few parts and then the fun part getting it to start !! Good Luck!

to 1badpony you just prolly got yourself in a world of hurt 98 was deff the wrong year to pick if you try and get gaskets for your valvecovers look at spending like 90 bucks or making your own because my daily driver mustang is a 98 gt conv. and the only gaskets that fit are the ones built for the cobra motors, they tried alot of new things on these motors and not very many stuck with the program
