I'm 15, and am currently neck deep in my 93 mustang project. I've replaced damn near everything on the body and the interior, so now I'm ready to ditch my 2.3 What i want to know is is what would be the best route to take in installing a v8 in my car? should i go with the ultra-popular 5.0 or the newer 4.6 any information would be greatly appreciated thanks... my car also has frame damage up front, should I fix whats wrong or go with a new front clip? and how would i go about doing that job?

for your frame damage have somebody at a frame shop or body shop look at it they will be able too give you the best course of action it cheeper to have frame straightend than too replace the front clip and then depending on what state you live in it might not pass inspection or will require a salvage title as far as an engine choice 5.0 would be my suggestion parts are alot cheaper than a 4.6 and you can get 350hp easy on a cheap bugget hope this helps you if you have any other questions hit me up and i will help as best as i can i was a mechanic for many years and this is my 3rd mustang 1st with a 4.6 thx sam

I'm ready to do about the same swap, but my question is, Am I gonna have to do any frame mods, due to the engine being heavier?? Are the 4 cylinders, 6 cylinders, and 8 cylinders, all the same, or would there be heavier, lighter frames?? If so, what would need to be done?? Thanks for any info, Dennis

the front k members are all the same the only difference is springs and brakes the front brakes got bigger on the 87 and up gt's and the spring rates are heavyer on the v8's what are your intentions if you are looking a street strip suspention on the cheap use all 4cyl springs and swaybars and put a air bag in the right rear and the other question is what chassy are you running

Well,I currently have an 06 GT. Taken it to the track a few times. Got it to run 12.80 @ 106. I dont wanna beat up the new car too much. So I wanna find a 86-93 Mustang to make a strip only car. 351w stroker motor, with an automatic.I think this motor will fit under the hood? Do some head work, balance the motor, and just run a 4 barrel. If I start with the 4 cylinder car, I will get a bigger rear end, 4:10 gears, and some suspension work done. Am I on the right track?? ok on the cheap this is what i suggest i had a 90 lx that i was going too run a 351w motor mounts are the same the only thing you will need is converision headers u will have too put on a cowl hood cause the carb will hit the hood c-4 auto trans since you are running it strip only they are light and strong parts are easy to come by for gears the 4.10 are a good base line but i have seen 4.30s and 3.73 and all have the same et's and close to the same power depends on the track don't limit your self on that the best and cheapest is either the eibach drag launch or the stock 4 cylinder suspension with 90/10 drag struts and 60/40 drag shocks and air bag the right rear the lakewood 21900 traction bars this is a good base line too start hope this help hit me back if you have anymore questions sam
i do have a set of conversion headers and a trickflow efi intake for a 351 for sale never installed wrecked the car before could do conversion
