I have an '08 bullitt with 5/spd.  Wondering what the level of difficulty is to install an aftermarket shifter assembly - not just the handle and knob.  Does the tranny have to be removed?  Does anyone have a recomendation for a manufacture?

It's not easy but it's not impossible.  I installed a Hurst Unit in my 08 Bullitt and it took about an hour and 15 minutes.  It's pretty straight forward, but the hardest part is getting the old shifter out after the bolts are all loose.  The shifter has to come out through the tunnel opening and it's hard   ....once you get it off to the left side, it will come out.  No matter what...the work is well worth the effort...no more missed third gear shifts.  Good luck!!!

OK- Thanks for the response.  I went with the Hurst (comp\billit) as well.
