Hey everybody I have an 84 5.0 conversion from a 4cyl. I got the motor from and 84 Lincoln. I changed the motor from a two barrel tbi to a new 4 barrel Holley 600cfm carb and a Edelbrock Performer intake. The motor has only 120k miles on it and i want to change things up to get more power as im very limited to rebuilding because of not having alot of money. Is there any cam i can do? what about GTP 40 heads from and explorer? Roller rockers? In the future Im going to be putting a 347 Stroker in it thats sitting in my garage awaiting money and time so i want parts now that i can use later if possible.

hey theres a good article on this in the mm&ff mag october 2009 issue called "down low 5.0" with personal experience put all your money into your 347 as you wont get anything back from the 302, but the biggest thing i find to having a nice engine that doesn't cost any money,... is that if it's clean, i personally hate working on dirty stuff and i find that if you take your engine apart and clean it up as much as possible it will be much easier to make adjustments, add-ons, and tune, but the best part is it's free! however how good of job you do is all up to you. hope it helps

HELLO ARE YOU STILL RUNNING THE STOCK 8"REAR END? IF YOU GET AN 87 OR NEWER 8.8 THROW IN DECENT GEAR/POSI UNIT IT WILL PEP UP THE BEAST. I DID IT TO MY 79 FOUND A DONOR 89GT AND IT DID WONDERS. REMEMBER IT AFFECTS GAS MILEAGE BUT THAT'S WHAT HOTRODDING IS ALL ABOUT. SELECTING THE GEARS WILL DEPEND ON HOW YOU ARE GOING TO USE IT. MINE HAS A 3.55 AND I HAVE A C4 TRANS. THIS WILL HELP IN ALL THE OTHER MODS.
