86 gt has a stutering problem

ok im new to the mustang world i just boughy  a 86 gt mustang the only mod to the motor that i no is bbk shorty headers and 40 series flows, my problem is when is is cold it runs fine but when it warms up it cuts out when normal driving and when in it, please give me some hints on where to start, thanks  

I am having the same problem with my '91 LX convertible. I have replaced the coil, plugs, cap, rotor, and wires. Still the same thing. And to make it worse, it runs better with the mass air unplugged. I'm puzzled.

ok theres a few things that it could be,i have a '87 gt convertible also with bbk shorty headers. i've known alot of people and heard alot of cases of stuttering or idle problems. sammyb20 if you have aftermarket headers that means someone must changed them from stock, alot of times people think they are putting there headers on right but really, are just setting themselves up for more work, people only torque their headers once not thinking that after starting the car the headers expand and the gasket moves thus allowing the exahust gasses to escape the head, you have a couple different options you can try, remove your headers start over with those gaskets and try torque them after the car has been warmed up or you can order new ones from bbk and torque them as applied above,in some cases i knew a couple people who just removed there header gaskets and lubed them all up with a copper oxide gasket maker by permatex, which you can purchase at any auto parts store.
