crazyhorse2: Listen up you inbred idiot. What you chose to do to your v6 is up to you but there are guys here that do mod their v6. mod for mod you will make more horsepower BUT YOU DONT HAVE THOSE MODS. He has the supercharger, you dont, so shut your mouth. Facts are facts. I have a v6 and ya it has dual exhaust just because it provides for a more balanced look. It has no fake badges no nothing. Seems like you are overcompensating for something you are missing in your pants. Feeling a bit threatened that your v8 may be a let down.
By the way just to back up my statements I have a 2008 GT500KR. If you need evidence I can gladly send you the pictures. Car number 634. So to me your little GT is a bone stock soccer mom, 45 yr old woman friendly model. Designed not to offend the wallet or the senses. Even if you modded it you would be a joke to me. Hope YOU dont feel belittled with your little 4.6.
By the way to all the fellow GT owners I mean no insult. I defend every mustang. Your v8 is no better than my v8 is no better than a v6. Its idiotic senseless individuals sucha s this guy that force people to feel horrible about the cars they enjoy.
I'm not sure whose post you are referring to, but there is no need for such language . Aren't we all here for a reason? We own or have owned a Mustang at one point another. Note that I said Mustang, not GT or V6. Saying as much, why are you putting down a person with a GT? Some of us might not have enough money to even dream of getting a GT500, KR, or Super Snake. We have to settle with what we can get our hands on. Would you rather somebody get an GT, or an older GM LS1 ? People want in on the Mustang fandom; whether they buy a six, eight, or blown eight is their choice.
In my opinion, if somebody wants to gussie up their six into a GT clone, let them!!! It is their car, their money, and their want to do so. Let them be. If you have a GT, you know that you have two more cylinders than they do. So what? You don't have to rub their face in it. They KNOW they have a V6. Before I sold my car, I had some plans for it. A full Saleen body kit and a coat of metallic blue. I knew that anything with two more cylinders would wipe the floor with me, DUH. I just wanted my car to look nice and represent the Mustang family.
After all that, you mean no disrepect to all Mustangs? Even V6 ones and GT clones? If I may, you are also guilty of being a "individual" who makes "people feel horrible about the cars they enjoy". How do you think this person you attacked feels now?

I think the topic should end. Getting personal is pointless, and remember there always is a bigger horse.

Good call. When something becomes that personal, it should be ended before somebody says something really, REALLY regretable.

ok, there are obviously a lot of hard feelings on the v6 and v8 issue. i personally think that v8s are the way to go for easy power and low price for that horsepower. but there are some people who want to go that different route for a six. and they do have legitimate arguments to make. does anyone remember the thunderbird supercoupe???? or how about that new taurus sho? to say you cant get horses out of a six is stupid. i have talked to a lot of car guys and i know that the ford 3.8 block can withstand upwards of seven hundred horses. it has been tested. there is no stock iron 5.0 that can do that. they take about four fifty and they crack. and there are plenty of guys out there with sc tbirds over four hundred horses and they have great torque. they would smoke most slightly modded eights out there. and since ford did it before when they produced the tbird, there are all kinds of superchargers and intercoolers to be had out there just for the 3.8. so it doesnt cost as much as you would think. to top that off, ford was makin good power in the late eighties and early nineties with these. imagine the possibilities of a newer version 3.8. i just wanna throw that out there. so, if you cant stand having anything but an eight, then keep your eight. but dont hassle anyone who wants to play with a six. the most important thing?? it's a ford. thats all that matters whether you got a six or an eight.

Nice call! If I recall, there have been some 10 second Thunderbird SCs. Considering the cars weigh in at over 4,000 pounds, they HAVE to be making serious power. The new SHO uses a twin turbo 3.5 V6 and pushes out 365 horses and 350 ft/lb's of torque. Lol, just think if that was an option for V6 'Stangs.
One thing I always wanted to do to my 98 Sixer when I had it was either swap in a Thunderbird SC engine or fab up a kit to fit the supercharger off of one. Just think, the SC's were rated at 210 hp and 315 ft/lbs. With an underdrive kit and a slight tune, they could easily boost power to 250-260. All of that was on a 8.2 compression ratio. The 98 Mustang 3.8 was a 9.0 compression. You might have been able to make a little more power but the higher compression ratio would probably not have supported the stock 12 pounds of boost. I'm sorry, but for around $1,000 and a little luck, you could have better than GT performance with the weight of a V6 (and insurance).
I think it's TMA, not sure but, a company offers a twin turbo kit for the 94-98 V6 Mustang. Retails for around $5,000. Now, I know there will be people who are like "Sell that p.o.s. six and take that and the 5 grand and get a GT!" But, if that is what they wanted to do in the first place, why didn't they? They want to be different. That twin turbo kit, if I recall can boost your Six to around 500 horses on stock internals.
To compliment that, I think Super Six Motorsports offers 3.8 forged internals as well as fully forged 4.2 liter stroker kits. On forged internals and higher boost, I'd been darn sure you could crank out a streetable 700 horses before having to replace the block. I think they also offer 3.8 blocks as well.
In an MM&FF article a few years ago, there was a green Fox that was running a Six. If memory serves correct, it HAULED. In that article it said something about taking the crank and a few other things out of a V6 F-150 and that would give you a "stroker kit" cheaper than imagined. Now obviously, a forged kit would be better for boosted applications, but cheap power is better than nothing at all!
That little green Fox ran real fast. You could obviously tell it was unique when it hit the burnout box. And again when it flew down the strip. If you build a V6 right, you can make big power. Maybe not as much as a fully built V8 (duh), but the saved weight might become a deciding factor in a race. You line up a V6 and V8 Mustang next to each other and have a "sound-off", 99 out of 100 people would say the V8 sounds better. In my opinion, they do. I definitely do not think well done Sixers sound anywhere near bad though. You can make them sound downright mean.
"Four-banger's yell, V6's scream, V8's roar, and Viper's straight out bite you."
Lol, totally just made that up. My current car, a 98 Eclipse GS (bite me, money was tight and I needed something to drive) totally blows. I miss actually having something in the engine bay that could back up the looks. Talk about NO FREAKIN' torque. It sounds like what I get when I have milk (I'm lactose intolerant). I can't wait to finish it and get a 'Stang once again, yes even a V6 one.
I don't hate all four-bangers. You have the respect the ones from the eighties, mainly the SVO. The fuel crisis was here and the SVO gave good power and fuel economy. I don't mind the current Focus SVT's either. Snappy and somewhat upgradeable. I also respect the Neon SRT-4's and Cobalt SS's (I know wrong forum, but still). They just seem different than the Japanese rice burners. Well take my current car. You take an older V6 Mustang, Cavalier Z24/Sunfire GT, or even a Neon R/T, and you'll smoke my car. I'll always be Ford biased, but I will also have mutual respect for American cars, even hopped up fours.
Believe me, I LOVE GTs. I do hope that one I finish my current "project" and college I will find a nice one. But every person is unique, as is their car/truck and their wants/desires for the said vehicle.

why the *** would someone come onto this site and talk trash about mustangs? seriously, you must be REALLY bored. do we need to go research a few vette sites? By the way bud, you forgot a few periods. Before you run your mouth about our cars, get an education. Talk about a joke and if you hate fords so much, why do you own a mustang to begin with? pretty hypocritical imo. and all this talk about your wife; why? youre probably a 12 year old, too brave behind his screen like everyone else. prove with pics.
