change the oil and the filter... you might also try a quality brand oil filter.. motorcraft... wix... mobil one..
if the oil drain back valve in the filter is leaking... the motor may be starting up dry...
you did not say which motor you have.... four, vee six or eight..
you may also have a worn oil pump.... testing requires a pressure test gauge.... and then a DISABLED IGNITION SYSTEM, oil filter off, free flow test... i have found some really worn pumps put out almost no oil flow..
worn rod and main bearings... probably do to the dry starts and low oil pressure and volume from a worn pump...
there is also a small chance of the oil screen is clogged.. or the oil has turned to pudding/jelly..
before disposing of the old oil filter.. you might want to carefully drain it.. and then cut it open.. without damaging the filter media... examine it... there have been a few instances of the filter coming apart.. and going into the oil passages.. blocking them.. causing reduced flow.. and dry like starts.. this is only one chance in a billion.. and that is a true number..
