I have a mostly stock 08 GT. On the engine I have added a C&L Racer cold air intake with the tune from the diablo on 93oct. I am getting 3.73 rear end gears put in the axle spinning factory 18's. What times can I expect in the quarter mile. What other thing would you suggest to get me to hit in the high 12's for the usual reasonable price.

Well thanks for the reply. I was really hoping for better due to the 12's or bust column written by this mag. I was not sure what the 4.10's would be like for highway use cause it is my primary vehicle and I do travel long distance on weekends. I just had the 3.73's put in and that was more than I cared to spend so changing them again is out of the question. A super charger is an obvious help but that would void my warranty and I couldn't afford that right now if I wanted to. I am still trying to find all the little extra's before I make the big save for the supercharger.

I have an 06 GT auto on factory 18in bullitt wheels. Bone stock 14.1 @ 98mph....X pipe w/ cats, FRPP stinger axle back, JLT cold air kit/SCT X3 tuner 13.39 @ 104 mph....all above mods with addition of BMR radiator support/sway bar delete and spare tire and jack removed 13.18 @ 105.91. All times w stock gears and tires. I 'm going for 12's also and might get lower control arms w an aluminum driveshaft and that should do it. Good luck

Well I finally made it to the track and with my second 1/4 pass in my life and a horrible .781 reaction time with 75+ temp in muggy new england humidity with a/c on I ran a 13.60. Hoping real low 13's aren't to far away.

Odd I expected more from 4.10's than a 1/10 of a sec. i think you could get twelves possibly with the tires and a dry 70-80 degree day. Have you considered the one peice aluminum drive shaft?

If you're having vibration problems with an aluminum drive shaft, it must be out of balance. Send it back to the manufacturer...they guarantee it to have perfect balance. Reduction in weight is a great ET improver as the article in M&FF proved. With drag radials, lighter wheels, etc etc...they got their Mustang to high 12s...very nice.

I have a 06 GT auto with 410's, running 13.21 with 2.04 60' on stock tires with a canned tune and CAI. My best 60' is a 1.975 Car before me blew up and track was prepped clean and I was first up. I dropped 2 tens from just the gears alone as my 60' went from 2.15 @ 13.5 to 2.04 @ 13.21. Second gear is a spinner as I lose a lot of gains from the spinning. I wonder if I am losing half of my gear gains. Since the season is over I am making plans to drop the stock tires and wheels and lose the sway bar. Typical gains at the 60' on the Drag radials seems to be 3 to 4 tenths over street pirelli all seasons and the gains are x2 at the traps so I am told. If I can get to 12.6 @ 107 mph before I get into power adders I will be pleased. Good luck

You guys with the manual cars can't be afraid to drive the balls off your car. I'm running a 13.18 @ 105.91 with an auto and stock gears and very minor bolt on's plus I weigh 235lbs myself. Not busting balls but put some sticky tires on your cars and launch at 5000rpms and you will find 12s in these cars with only a few mods.
