built 306 engine dyno 237hp and 281tq what gives many mods done?

91 block 306ci forged bottom end x303 cam w/ dual valve springs stock 1.6:1 rockers, 24lbs injectors, 190lbs bbk fuel pump, accufab 77mm throttle body, pro-m mass air and coldair scaled for t/b and injectors, msd 6al,msd wires, nology coil,  holley system max intake, stock e7te heads, bbk shorty headers and off road h-pipe w/ flowmaster 40 series mufflers,car also has tremmec 3550 trans, aluminum driveshaft, 3.73 gears, and tubular k-member and a-arms. raced a 05 gto supercharged 5.7 w/ 500hp he did 12.8 1/4 mile w/ a pro driver i did 13.5 w/ street tires timing at base and #2 cylinder was down 20 psi (blown head gasket)w/ out k-member. i was only a car length behind ive beating many cars w/ much more power than mine. motor has been rebuilt (gasket rebuild) put it on the dyno it only had 237hp and 281tq dont understang how such deprresing #s can make my car almost perform as well as cars w/ double the power. a friend had his car dynoed at 285 and 310 w/ stock 89 cobra intake 24lbs injectors and exhaust i smoke him every time by alot what gives?  

Strange.. i no wht ur saying.. My car is a 306 with race port heads.. Never dynoed but it will give an 04 cobra(stock).. Hell its right there with it.. And i have no power adder?.. I dont no why a 306 performs so well.. Revs forever!.. Never falls off.. I do have an anderson pms.. Maybe thats why?

put a set of heads on it and you will get another 75 or more horsepower.I know exactly what you mean my coupe has a 306 with 2.02 eldbrocks and trickflow u/l and runs a best  so far a 7.7 in 1/8 mile.full interior ,5spd. with 19lb. injectors.
