first let me start by telling what i have. i have a 98 gt, the motor has never been into, so i do still have the stock heads. however, these are the mods that i have, 4.10 gears, 31 spline moser axls, with auburn pro diff, c.a.i. mac long tubes, o.r. x pipe with 2 chamber flows, undrive pulleys and the elbow spacer. know my question is i know thes cars a pathetic they say but i recently had a tune done and the car made 226hp and 300tq. no i have some questions, 1 is that respectable for a non p.i. swapped car? 2 the best times i have gotten is a 14.10 @ 99 mph. i am wanting to add a zex dry kit and get it retuned. i am wanting to change pumps but i do not know what i should use? my ultimate goal here is to try to get it to be a fast daily  driver without pull the heads. cams is the only thing that i am wanting to put in it if the valve covers are pulled. please help me oh btw what is the fastest n/a non p.i. motor car?

300/225 are decent numbers for a '98 model and the times you mention seems about right for what you've done so far.  One thing you haven't mentioned is a timing adjuster.  It won't make much more actual power but it gives a better feel on the street.  What kind of pump are you talking about?  And how fast you want it to be depends on how far into the engine you go.  I've seen '96-'98's run in the 10's, but that was with a dedicated engine.  13's are possible with aggressive driving and traction.

i am using the factory pump, and all factory rails etc. i have been wanting to change over to the 96-97 style so i can add an adjustable regulator.  also this is all while running 91 octane. now the suspension is stock except for H&R sport springs, but i really do not know where to start on the suspension. timing adjuster, no i do not have one and not real familier with how it is installed, but i have a chip isnt that the same thing? as far as the engine i am trying to find the fastest n/a non p.i. car "stock specs" and go with what he has or had and try to build on that. i really do not want to go into the engine, if i do the only thing i want to do is change the cams but i do not know which ones would be best.. people tell me just for know switch to the p.i. cams to see if i like the power gains. if i change the cams this spring i am thinking of the comp 268's or the 270's i just do not know which ones yet

For the suspension, you could go with upper and lower control arms and for the street, go with the poly bushings.  Spherical bearings are not necessary and would make a harsher ride.  If you have a chip, don't get a timing adjuster.  Chips are done with the factory timing programmed into it.  I can't remember who exactly has the fastest non PI car.  Maybe look in the NHRA Stock class and see if there's one in there.  Personally, I would go with the Comp cams rather than some PI cams.  The PI's have more lift and duration than your stockers, but the additional lift may make it sluggish because the engine can't take advantage of it right now.  The Comp cams are designed for it with more duration and that's what a non PI engine needs more than lift.
