i have an aode transmission in a 94 gt and it slips out of gear and downshifts while cruising, only when the air is on anyone know how to fix that

hello i would check and see if pump is working corectly in trans its a guess but thats what it sounds like to me ..

My ex wifes car kept changing gears from OD to third on the highway also. There is a little electronic module on the side of the trans that reads what the gear shift position is. It is a small black module attached by 2 bolts. It is not waterproof and corrodes once water gets in it. The computer reads the resistance of this module in order to know what gear you are in. I bought the module at NAPA for $40. It is also called a nuetral safety switch. You can replace it from underneath the car without removing anything else. Hope this helps
