All,

Just bought a 97 Saleen s281 Speedster with 22k miles and I was wondering what I can do to wake it up  a little.  Anybody with any advice regarding upgrades? It has a KN air filter and Borla exhaust. What would you do to it next? Throttle body? underdrive pulleys or should I just head toward the supercharger route. Any advice would be helpful. I am have 1965 mustangs and this is my first late model Mustang.

Thanks,

David

Hi, before anything esle is done if you have a stick, buy a shifter (pro 5.0 or tri-ax) you will thank me.

next biggest bang for the buck is gears, gear selection is very much dependant on what you are going to do with your car, if you are going the poweradder route (ie s/c, turbo or N2O) stick to a 3.73.  if you will rarely if ever see the track also 3.73.

if you want the most out of your car NA go 4.10's

and if you are a true NA trackwhore go 4.30.

if you want a supercharger, get it, because you won't be able to use U/D pullies with it.

the best thing about late model is they are the 55 chevy of today, you are literally only limited my your imagination on what you can do with one.

but step one is figuring out what you want to do with your car, what do you want to put into it, and what you expect out of it.
