i love how you guys get all defensive with your v8s. I for one have a 93 gt 5.0 and a v6 3.8. I have fun with both and to be honest with you the V6 may not be as fast but it def drives better. I have a few mods on it and for one it isnt much slower then a stock gt. So you all should stfu about how v6s are slow because maybe people buy them because they dont want to race or want to pend 100 bucks a week on gas. You all need to grow a pair of balls and worry about your own cars. I hate all those people who think they are hot *** in there big bad v8, i got one to dont get me wrong there fast as hell but i no many v6s that have the potential to run one. So comming from someone with from both worlds i think people just need to grow up and worry about little v4 imports running there asses instead of the people getting to point a to point b with there 6 bangers. so for all you sixers out there. I have a gt pushing about 580 to the wheels and i stil dont give a *** what liter your engine is.

i really cannot understand what the problem is with a v6 mustang. It's obviously for buyers with less money to burn so what difference would it make if the aftermarket parts are way to expensive. Most v6 owners don't have the money to get them anyway. Its just a preference. If your ripping on someone for buying something with a little less power, your not seeing the big picture. At least a great American auto maker is being supported rather than some "go-green" Japanese manufacturer. All mustangs, v6 through the Shelby, all represent a heritage. So let everyone enjoy theirs

Yea right. I love the 4.0. I've embarrassed some V-8s. Quite a few in those big a-- trucks. They are so slow. I eat them for lunch.

I love the 4.0. It's lighter, easily modded and great on gas. I also love embarrassing some V-8s out there. Just love it!

look yes a v6 is all those things but sometimes the outcome is rewarding with the little six banger. one of the feature vehicles in mm&ff a few months ago has a turbocharged v6 that runs in the 9s in the 1/4 with over 620 hp!!!!! so i say to all those guys with v6 stangs out there, if u have the means to modify them and u r able to kill most v8s on the road, then be proud. that way u have bragging rights over most guys with v8s hahaha

I have a 2000 v6 Mustang that is currently making 355RWHP (on a Mustang Dyno). Granted, I have made major motor modifications. I have enjoyed the challenge of modifying this little bullet proof motor and I have many friends in the Mustang community who appreceiate what can be done to improve the performance of a v6.
I believe that speed is a by-product of the modifications, but modifying (any car) is an art that should be appreciated.
We are all Mustangers...don't be so elitist.

I have a 2006 V6 shelby gt replica and although it may not run as hard as an 8 it defiently can out run some of them and not just the stock but the ones with mods. Take for example...I was coming home one night from Gulfport,MS to Biloxi and a newer corvette and BMW 745i series were just getting started from a roll when I rolled up beside the BMW and took off and left him sitting. The Vette followed closely but still failed to pass me on a 4 lane bridge with no one in front of me. Why? I don't know but just sayin that there are a few of you V8 guys out there talking smack knowing that your semi-moded stang would get your doors handed to you by a 6. Now I have simple mods and nothing major yet such as motor work or forced induction but it easily runs 140-150 and most cars can't keep up plus from the roll with the 4.10 gears I have so it makes it more fun to laugh at some of the V8 guys. Now while I have raced more of the little 4 bangers and chevy camaros and older fox bodies I can pull off a mid to high 13 easily.

I have an '04 GT with the v-8. But 'Stangs are 'Stangs. I've seen some v-6's that were really great looking cars! V-6, V-8, who cares? Paul

I have a 65 mustang with the 289 HIPO in it. I have an 07 v6 mustang. The old car was my daily driver back in the 80's when I was in my 20's. Now I have the v6 for a daily driver. The several thousand dollars extra to get the GT for a daily driver seemed incredibly stupid. I am now modding the 07 quite a bit, but just for the fun of working on a car. All the money I saved up front is allowing me to put the parts on that I want, not what everybody else has just from the factory. A "real" car enthusiast would not care if it is a v6, v8 or inline 6. How many old mustangs do you see at car shows with 6 cylinders. A mustang is a mustang. If so many people didnt buy the v6, then I doubt there would be any v8's for you to go out and buy as they would probably stop production. I bet the guy who started this thread got his a** handed to him by a modded v6 and was wanting to vent to make himself feel better. Next month after the supercharger goes on my v6, I will be very happy to have it, and not be very concerned whether or not the guys with the Roush's and Shelby's approve, as the car will suite me, and after all, that is all that matters, is the owner happy. So if you drive a Mustang and someone doesn't approve of your car, that is their problem, not yours, just keep on doing what you do with your car, after all, it is "your" car.

When I first purchased 04 v6 stang I bought because I couldn't afford the v8 and until then I am fun modding my v6 and thats all that counts. I did so much on the exterior I might just might swap the engine out for a 302.

I got a 2000 V6 mustang and i love it. I needed a new car and i loved mustangs so i searched around. I found mine with 33,000 miles for only 7,500. I didnt have the money to fork out for the V8 that were setting around and most of the didnt look as good as this one anyways. And if i wanna go show off thats what the '71 Torino Fastback is for

OK so i drive a 2006 v6 mustang with a turbo and run in the 11"s and im almost positive that someone is gonna knock me reguardless for having a v6 but then i have to ask myself if i had a v8 running in the 11"s u would say nice ride and then im sure some one is gonna pop the question yea i could spend a fourth of what u have in a v8 and run right with u right.....well shouldnt that be the choice of the person owning the car...in my case my dad bout a v6 didnt like it gave it to me with like 10,000$$ under the condition i wouldnt sell it so there u have it...now granted i run a respectable time id say....is it wrong for me to ask for cars to be judge on what it can do and not what is in it as far as the engine is concerned...

my thought of this whole thing is about bragging rights knowing that u made something from nothing and turned it into something. i have a V6 mustang and i love it and it doesnt matter about really the size of the engine its about how you modify it to get the full potential out of the motor. now yea ok u can modify the v8 but everyone and their grandmas have v8s now and its not that popular..now if i had a v6 that runs the same as a v8s (which im about to have) i would put money that i would get more props just cuz a v6 kicked a v8s ass! haha but yea thats my opinion anyone agree?.. so think about that v8 riders

well take it from someone who has a v6 and has hustled quite a few v8s in his day it is quite a good feeling but i think the whole argument is stupid i mean when it comes down to it...we all drive mustangs shouldnt we be picking a race with camaros and challengers and other make cars... thats just how i feel the argument should be between and i find most people that have v8s and that hate modding a v6 is usually bc they raced one and lost or bc they dont wanna drop mods in there v8 they just want to be faster naturally but i mean thats there fault for leaving there stang stock
