yea i agree , almost all of us drive mustangs here we shouldnt have a fight about this everyone has their own opinion and who we should really be talking to is people who has ricers and people who are stupid on the streets with a ford tourus trying to race someone who has a modded car or a fast stock car.

Yeah I agree with all you V8 GT Mustangs and Cobra drivers, I do know the V8 is where its at, but when I went to the dealer to put 10 grand down on a new 2010 Mustang GT they laughed in my face, saying your first car and with no credit, no way will we get you approved, and I wanted a newer car sick of working on a POS. so I had to settle with a 2007 Orange V6 Mustang, but now Im slowly doing things, like Seq. tail lights, I just bought smoked head lights, and sending them in to AACstyle.com to have Red Oracle Halo's put in them, also I put a flowmaster muffler on it, and people tell me it sounds like a V8, idk when I pay it off in March, I might just put a turbo on it, just to see what it can do, but without putting a lot of money into it, yes the GT and Cobra will smoke it, no doubt, its funny with the whole V6 is slow thing tho. It's funny the first week I had it, I turned left on a green light and someone clipped the ass end of my car, it would of been worse but I punched it into second and it slid out taking some of the impact away, my car had 2,000 in damages that poor little Pontiac Vibe and skinny little girl with a boob job's car had 10,000 in damages. The guys at work are like if you had gotten the GT you would have never got hit.

That sounds like something i would do. Haha! But you sure you want to swich everything from the mountings to manifolds to the housing and transmission? The 4.0's are 245 (not sure about 3.8's) and a 302 is a 289 bored out so would it fit??? lol. (if you do swich... can post how it goes???)cuz my friend is thinking about doing the same to an '01.

I don't guess anyone else has noticed that v6 mustangs were basically set up to beat a gt in a 1/4 mile. i have drivin a 5.0 and got on it. not much difference except that my six gets to 70 quicker. idk what six cylinder all u gt drivers raced but obviously that person couldn't drive it. the only real differce is the transmission. so all im sayin is before u put down six's again come race me and see who's laughing. I can drive!!

Women drive V6's, period.  Anyone who says different really wants a V8. Also putting a flowmaster on a V6, sounds like a sick dog.  I'll take on your six.

I'm thinking the main reason people would buy a new Sixer ('99-'04), over a '94-'98 GT might simply be that they like that style better. Take me for example. I'd always wanted a Mustang for my entire life. When I went to look for my first car, I saw what soon turned out to be MY 1998 Pacific Green V6 w/ a 5-speed. Bone stock. I knew that I would never be able to afford a GT of that style. The only modification I ever did the to car was have an X pipe w/ Flowmaster 40 series mufflers put on. I knew that I would get laughed at by the V8 crowd, but I paid for the car myself @ 16 years old; and I'm sorry, but my car was in much better condition that most the of GTs around where I live. Many GT owners as well as Brand-X'ers said as much. I knew that I should wait for a V8 when time and money was available. But I tell you what, that V6 was fun.

The main reason's many go with a V6, in my opinion, are:

1. Cheaper insurance
2. Better mileage
3. Cheaper inital cost
4. More readily available
5. They simply want a Mustang; to be part of one of the largest enthusiast groups
in the world not a Brand-X or Rice burner

Heading back to the "style" factor. Many people go on what a Mustang looks like, or could look like, when they go shopping. Like I stated earlier, I will always be partial to the '94-'98 Mustangs as my first Mustang was in that range. I don't really like the Fox Mustangs, I respect them VERY much, but I would never buy one. Obviously, I love the '65'-'71 fastback Mustangs (who doesn't), but those are almost untouchable to regular citizens w/ regular job incomes. I would shy away from the '05-up Mustangs as they just look (and feel) bulky to me. The '99-'04 Mustangs are great, but they are too angled to me. That's why I would prefer a '94-'98 Mustang over any other late-model one. They have the newer technologies as well as classic curves and smoothness.

Well, it's hard to tell...would you swap out the stock muffler and weld in a Flowmaster? Or would you have a X-pipe fabbed up and use Flowmaster mufflers on a dual exhaust? If you are just replacing your stock muffler with a Flowmaster and keeping the stock diameter pipe, you probably won't get any gain at all (minus the awesome sound). However, if you do what I did (the X-pipe w/ duals and Flowmaster American Thunder 40 Series using 2.5 inch pipe) you will notice a considerable change in response and a little power/torque increase. Just letting y'all know, V6 Mustangs DO sound nice with dual Flowmasters. Even when up in the higher RPM's, they still scream. I'd rather listen to a V6 Mustang w/ Flowmasters than a Civic with a fart can (terrible) or Supra with an HKS system (meh...).

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm looking to build a BBF 94 or 95 in the next few years. I just want to ask the V6 haters out there something. Why does the new Taurus SHO have a twin turbo V6 when the chassis could easily house a V8? Some people choose to heavily modify a V6 Mustang/Ranger etc. to get fair mileage along with the BAM!!! of a V8. Ford has seen that need to be economical. Although I'll admit, if they ever get rid of the V8 GT for a twin-turbo V6 one, I'll have to kick some Exec's a$$.

well i have a slightly different opinion on this matter.  yea you can mod a 4 or 6 banger to equal the hp output, but your missing an important point here, the sound. my 07 gt has shorty headers, high flow h-pipe and flowmasters, nice deep lope and growl that those little mills just cant replicate, no matter what u do to them, sorry to all the grandmas out there, but real stangs look and sound mean, not hollow

I agree with you. I'd had the exhaust done on my car for a couple weeks; I was coming home from work and met a 05 GT pulling out of a driveway. He got on it and I was like "Damn...that's nice." I know there are people out there who think that they can roll with the big dogs if they have an exhaust that sounds slightly similar (only at idle mind you). Then there are the Sixers who just want what they have to sound nice. Take this for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KbgAghxZdY

Some people just prefer to get what they can have to sound good for what it is.

Listen up you inbred idiot. What you chose to do to your v6 is up to you but there are guys here that do mod their v6. mod for mod you will make more horsepower BUT YOU DONT HAVE THOSE MODS. He has the supercharger, you dont, so shut your mouth. Facts are facts. I have a v6 and ya it has dual exhaust just because it provides for a more balanced look. It has no fake badges no nothing. Seems like you are overcompensating for something you are missing in your pants. Feeling a bit threatened that your v8 may be a let down.

By the way just to back up my statements I have a 2008 GT500KR. If you need evidence I can gladly send you the pictures. Car number 634. So to me your little GT is a bone stock soccer mom, 45 yr old woman friendly model. Designed not to offend the wallet or the senses. Even if you modded it you would be a joke to me. Hope YOU dont feel belittled with your little 4.6.

By the way to all the fellow GT owners I mean no insult. I defend every mustang. Your v8 is no better than my v8 is no better than a v6. Its idiotic senseless individuals sucha s this guy that force people to feel horrible about the cars they enjoy.
