This is a useless argument. It has gone from a simple question to an all out insult fest. For every person in here you enjoys moddifying there V6 there is 5 people with V8 ready to put them down. One thing import people have over Mustang people is obviously respect for each others cars. Sure a moddified Civic, Accord, etc are unusual vehicals to moddify ( I wouldn't do it )but if they are done properly they get respect from other importers. If a V6 Mustang is properly modified (Like I said before NOT just a few new markings, and a wing) then it should get respect. Yes it does piss me off when I see someone cruising around in stock V6 with GT or Cobra rims acting as if there car will defeat anything. But the people who are serious about it modding there V6's are getting grouped together with these fools who don't take it seriously. Give respect where respect is due.

Well put. I agree with you. That's all I wanted all along, an explanation. That's why I started the discussion in the first place. Fair enough, if guys out there want to mod V6 Mustangs, more power to them. Just please, show respect to the heritage. Please don't fall into the "Fast and Furious" trap. Clear out tail lights, aluminum spoilers, "tribal" side stripes, and last but not least, Gt badges on a V6 or SVT and Cobra badges on a GT. These things are disrespectful to the Mustang and what it stands for. I know not all V6 modders do this, just some, you V8 guys too (you know who you are).

I disagree with both, a V6 Mustang is a V6 Mustang. And a V6 Mustang should never be modified, just driven. If you want more power, put it in neutral and hold it full bore against the rev limiter until something gives. Then stuff an 8 in the thing.

Of course not everyone is going to agree with Modifying a V6. If you want more power why don't you hold your V8 to the floor and rev it to death. Then you can put a bigger engine in it. It is the same circumstance. You have taken your haterd of seeing idiots with stock V6 trying to pass there cars as something there not and you have related it to people who truly wish to properly modify the preformance of there car.
If a V6 is such a insuperior car (which you have said many times) then why are you acting so threatened by it. Let them modify there cars and if they put more $ in to there car then you do and properly and tastefully modify it then yes there is a chance it will get more respect than your V8. But you know what, it will be your fault for not modifying yours. If you want to keep your Mustang stock that is fine but don't be insulting people who are interested in increasing the performance of there cars.

This thread is about why people waste money/time modding a V6. Your perception is wrong again. I'm not threatened by such activity. I just know it's a waste of resources.
You on the other hand are possibly tired of feeling inferior to men with 'more' and in feeling this relation to such people voice yourself as the defender of the indefensible crime. ![]()
At least with the "ricer" community they all agree. Modding a tin can is 'Kewl'. I prefer to see a modded ricer over a modded V6 Stang. Don't these V6 guys know that Ford puts 8's in them??
Affordability is a nice excuse, but an invalid reason.
If a highly modded 6 beats my mildly modded 8, so be it. I'd still laugh because the jack@ss spent his money on a 6 cylinder pos that never should have left the assembly plant with Mustang badges.
The V6 is an engine for people who don't know, want a little more pep than a 4 banger or people with Buick's and families.
If the 3.8 was a "performance" oriented engine, the people down at Ford woulda put some in the Lightnings and such.

YES !!!!!!!! exactly thank you. This argument is becoming a joke. Sorry "CopCoupe" if you have a problem with the V6 Mustang. Obviously nothing we say is going to change your mind. If you would rather modify a import you go right ahead. Go buy a damn civic and put a freakin wing on it and go out and get your respect (HA). Then you will see how much of a jerk you have been when the guys with the Mustangs are standing there laughing at you. Picking an import over a V6 is a joke. Are you joking????? Recently you have no decent argument why someone should not modify these cars. You just continue to post insults and unproved statements. I doubt you even own a V8 Mustang. You are probably just another one of the white illiterite teenagers you have been bad mouthing so much in this messege board. Your reply is irrealevant since this will be my final post in this disscussion.
Since you will probably reply anyways with a bunch more insults to me and other Mustang owners and still not actually add anything to this argument I just have one thing to say to you....... Go put some gas in you econo box import (which you believe is a V8 Mustang) and leave the discussion to real Mustang enthusiast.

in all actuallity the v6 that is in the mustang was originated for the busch series when they were going to make it strictly 6 cil racing, but nascar changed their mind due to the fact that ford would still stomp a hole into anything that came on the track with it, so all that i am really getting at is their iss tons of potential in a v6 it is just the money you have to spend to do that is rediculous and intern makes anyone who does it a complete idiot.

You are so full of CRAP. If someone is hard for money and is unable to het the gt but can afford the $15000 or so v6 that is just BULL CRAP. Those 1987-1993 V8 mustang are WAY CHEAPER than a new v6 mustang. On top of that, these 1987-93 mustangs can be upgraded to SMACK THE CRAP OUT OF ANY COBRA, VETTE AND VIPER. Nuff said! Later MISTERHAVENOCLUE.

Your a moron. Go ahead buy a older less reliable V8. Then you can go and defeat anybody on the street right. You sound like one of those idiots that puts a wing and cobra markings on an unndermaintained stang and goes around challenging people you know you cant possibly beat. Oh great, another damn V8 owner with a superiority issue. Yes everybody bow down to this idiot he knows so much more than the rest of us. Go challenge the Vettes, and and New Mustangs and when you lose just remember you got a good deal on that less realible under $10000 death-trap.

This guy is unbelievable!
He claims to own a V8 car, yet bad mouths those that do, hmmm? Makes ya wonder. I also recall the STUPID SON OF A *** writing it was his last post...........yeah, your momma's a b*tch.
And yes, I will continue to insult you....you piece of dog sh*t.
I started this new thread, so I'll decide when my posts are irrelevent, not you.
Some people own Fox body Stangs as weekend cruisers...I do. You have no clue about anyone's financial situation, so why talk as if owning a newer model Stang puts you in some sort of upper class. I prefer the Fox body notchbacks......so that's what I bought. The car is far from unreliable or unmaintained, just another false perception of yours.
I have already stated all the relevent facts about modding a V6, so let me ask you a question.............................shut-up.
Your reply is unnecessary since I started this new thread and dub you un-worthy of posting in it. Go find a warm, fuzzy thread somewhere else.
