If somebody wants to mod a v6, fine thats up to them, but i would never think about buying a v6, let alone modding one. To me, in my opinion, its just untraditional

well....if you are in it for speed or for bragging rights/insecure about your self then get a v8. there are plenty of other worse cars to mod than the v6 mustang, you guys just put us down to make your selves feel better.
I enjoy moding my car, there are pretty quick ones, more han a couple in the 11s some soon to be in the 10s, i dont care for anything that fast. I have only invested a small amount into my car, currently runs 14.7s, maybe a tad quicker added a couple more things. I am just in it for fun, and i like the way they look.
I am a poor college student in his 4th year, after i get out i plan to pay the v6 off and buy a faster car, such as a cobra or what not.
I wouldnt be making fun of v6 guys if it wasnt for us buying the base model there woudl be no v8 to begin with. the 99 up put down soem very respectable times and power with simply a blower, not that i want one, my goal is to simply have fun with it and be a little different, every other person and almost 90% of my friends own 5.0 or 4.6 mustangs....
I only paid 13k for mine new off the lot so its super cheap and looks good/reliable i cant complain, the aftermarket is freaking huge also.

Everybody is entitled to there opinion. And there are lots of them out there. There is nothing untraditional about putting a smaller engine in a Muscle car. Almost all muscle cars from the 70's, 80's and even today come with a lower optioned model. Back then insurance, gas, and purchase prices of cars were cheaper. So of course everyone wanted a bigger engine and faster car. But now cars are more expensive and so is maintaining them. Even back then people would modify there cars to go faster. Let people mod what they like if you are that threatened by a smaller engined car that you have to insult the owners and put down there car then maybe you dont have enough confidence in what you are driving.

I was not directing my comments to you. I am also a V8 kind of guy. My comments were directed towards people knocking other peoples Mustangs. If you want to bash a car bash a Honda Civic.

I have owned a number of different cars since I was 16. I have modified a number of them.
I modified a 67 Beetle.....it was unique. I modified/improved a 68 4speed Camaro.....nice/typical. An 88 5spd IROC....redneck heaven, but a fun car. A 95 LT1 Vette....show quality. A 91 GT....plentiful. A 90 LX5spd convert......not too common.
Yet, there have been a few cars that I've owned that just were not worth the time or money. They were just drivers, and that is exactly what a V6 Mustang is. A driver. It's a high school girl's, daddy bought me a pretty, red "sports" car. It has all the "Sporty" look with a limp biscuit under the hood.
I have a V6 too. It's in a '00 S-10. The only Mod I have and will ever make to the thing is a K&N filter for $60. I sure as hell could make that p/u quick, but why bother, so I can whip up on a stock or mild Mustang, whoop-tee-doo. Because when I went home and parked it in the garage at night, it'll still be short 2 holes. And I'd have spent all that money to spank some V8's.
That's why I bought my SSV coupe for $3500. That's my toy. It's really clean and by the time I reach 13 grand, the *** is gonna scoot. I'm a full time student myself. I'm just patient and live within my means. I'm making reference to the 13K for a V6 Stang in an earlier post........ouch!! Shiite, for that money, I'd have bought a clean '66 or sumfin'. But that's just me. "Chick's" may or may not dig the appearance of a Fox notch, but if driving cars is about "scoring chicks", you get more tail with a Ferarri.

copcoupe was right about his list of reasons. i have a 00 v6 and an 02 gt conv. it is amazing the way people look at you when your in the v6 and how differnt their looks are when your in the gt. so whenever someone looks at me and laughs while i am in my wifes v6 i make sure i remember the car so if i see it again while im in the gt i can blow it away.

i have a 67 mustang coupe with a 302. bored stroked, high po heads, air gap intake, street avenger carb....but I would rather get a v6 than a SOHC GT. they dont make any GOOD aftermarket parts for the GT, and if I were to work another motor i would want somethign a little more of a challenge than a car that already has performance parts on it. witht he car i have now it was easy to find parts to match and everything and easy to have it run quick ets. if i were to get another i would want something more difficult to make fast. i dont know if im the only person like that here but thats why i would get one.

Another point i forgot and i saw in your post is that people will buy newer model v6's over older model v6's event hough they cost more money. a little extra money isnt going to make the difference between a v6 and a v8, thats thousands of dollars, personally i would rather spend a thousand or two more and buy a newer model v6 than an older model v6 or even an 80's 5.0 only because i dont care for thebody style and looks. they are good cars, very good, but i would rather have the newest body style or a 60's body style.....all im saying is all of this is all just personal opinion and no matter who wants to make a point to who there will be modded v6's and there will be v8 guys that hate em....thats never guna change

You're awfully good at running your mouth. Like I stated before, I have no beef with V6 Mustangs. I used to own one. But I did not mod it! Answer this, If there was a same year, same condition, same mileage V6 and V8 sitting side by side for sale at the same price, which would you choose? I don't even need a reply. You could afford a V6, and that's what you put mods on. Don't defend it, it's the truth. If we could afford the new Ford GT many of us would be driving them instead of our Mustangs. Truth, plain and simple. I'm not saying you're broke or low income, I'm saying you couldn't afford a V8, and even if you can now, you have put too much $$ in your V6 to give it up. The cost per Hp is greater, flat fact. 3.8 parts are more $$ due to less aftermarket demand. Just like my 3.4L '99 SHO. I loved that car but mods were too difficult and very $$. Once again, I don't mind V6 Mustangs. I just can't stand 17yr old punks putting 17" Gt wheels and loud exhaust systems on their 3.8L's and thinking they're up to par with my GT. You keep talking about the drag strip and the 1/4 mile? Is that where you spend most of your time? Because I don't, I drive my car in real situations where braking and cornering play just as big of a role as straight line acceleration. Your arguments are irrelevant, You drive a base model car, a stripped down version of what it was meant to be. Sure a Cobra is faster than my GT, but it's a special, low production model. You, my loud mouthed friend, drive a bone stock soccer mom, 45yr old woman friendly model. Designed not to offend the wallet or the senses. Wow, you've supercharged it and put some toys under the hood. I'm not impressed. You can't polish a turd. And that's what you've tried to do. NO different than the ricers trying to take a Honda or Toyota and do the same thing. Congrats. Go ahead, run circles around my stock GT, for now. After I've put a supercharger and other mods on mine, I'll come back and put you in your place. On both the track (straight line and curved) and the street. Mod for mod I'll always win. That's why I purchased a GT this time.

Ok ......... you keep saying those people who modify a V6 are guilty of the same crime as someone trying to Modify an import. So how is it any different to modify a V8. Yes a V8 is a bigger engine to start with but you are doing the same things to it. You are just as guilty as anyone with a V6. You are taking a car and MODIFYING IT! It is no different no matter what car you use it is still considered modifying it.
If you keep your car stock than thats is fine (yes a stock V8 is better than a stock V6) but the second you decide to change something you are modifying it from its stock state. It doesn't matter what the original car was. You can argue all day about the advantages of upgrading a V8 over a V6 (I agree with you) but don't make it sound like it is alright for you to Modify something just because you have a V8. The only crime here is bad mouthing people who have a similar interest. Modifying a Mustang.

Wait a minuet. I have no problem with bettering one's automobile. I have a problem with this "My V6 is better than your V8" crap. No, it's not better, or the Gt and Cobra would have a 3.8L powerplant. All I'm saying is that V6 guys are living in a perpetual state of penile envy, so they mod their V6's to make themselves feel better. That’s all. Note I don't have a problem with the Supra, WRX, Evolution, SE-R, Focus SVT, NSX, etc. crowd. Those are foreign sport cars, not family or economy models (as in the Civic or Accord). That's what the V6 Mustang is. Family, economy based cars with a "sporty" pleather feel. Mod a sports car, don't *** about the cost of gas or insurance. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. I don't drive a BMW M3 because I can't afford it. Besides, if these guys can supercharge or even worse yet twin turbo a V6, why can't they afford a V8?

Come on buddy, I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here. You need to learn how to type and spell a little better. Sure we all make typos, but you are making yourself out to be an idiot. Note no "e" in MAKING or TAKING. And "U" is you. Stop burying yourself. Want to prove a point to me? Don't sound like a Texas-hick-shade tree mechanic. Just a hint.
