Yeah, boys will be boys. Going out on a deserted road and beating on your car a little is part of being a boy..........old women don't do it.
I as well chose better times and places to open 'er up, but it comes from experiences. I had to get a few tickets first. I agree, if a kid has never driven cars, motorcycles etc with lots of hp(and thrown 'em 'round a bit to learn the physics of it all) he/she shouldn't get the keys to a juiced up ride. That's just common sense.
However, as a "new driver" I had these experiences in my back pocket, coming from brothers/family/friends etc. I had very competent skills, enough to avoid accidents. It's just I chose the wrong places to display a show of power & paid some tickets, hefty ones too. I never tried to be "cool", just enjoyed 0-60+ hard acceleration. Some of the tickets could be labeled bad karma.........
I just think that insurance should be handled on a case-by-case basis, all equal until track record proves otherwise. If some kid plows into my family, that was the kids fault, not the insurance company for allowing him to drive a fast car, nor the fact he was 18 or whatever age.
Trust me, a fuqt up kid can kill you hot rodding his Chevette.

Good points, one question though ,... what does "handle" a car mean exactly, a lot of people use that statement but, it's really a bunch of crap. A car with over 300 horses, handles it self it's just weather or not u have the common sense or "experience" to know what not to do so u don't get into trouble. Ultimitly I think that it's not experience so much as it is maturity, because how else to you get experience, but to learn from previous mistakes, am i right ???? But do need to be mature enough to know when or where to get that experience, at a stop light ain't the smartest place,!!!

look, all you old people have done the same stuff when you were young except you guys were lucky to have 427 cammers, 429 boss, 351c boss and what did you guys do to them? eeeeerrrrrrrrrttttttttt crash. so dont tell me while im in my little 302 mustang an old fart pulls up next to me in a 69 camaro and we leave the stop light reaving our motors and flying all over gods creation just to out run each other to QUIT DOING THAT STUPID STUFF!! Then theres only one thing that comes across my mind and it aint pretty.

Ok "spanky", do some research. If you noticed I said earlier that I am only 26. There were no 426,427,428, or 440's easily available to me when I got my license……IN 1994! Don't be an idiot! Once again, if you're still in HS, how do you pay your insurance? Hmmm? When I was IN HS I couldn't afford it so how do you?ffice ffice" />>>

First of all I do not agree with mom and dad buying u a sports car, if they are going to buy U a car it should be something to get u around. secong of all if U can afford it without needig daddy to pay for it then U'll know how to take care of it. im 20 and i have 3 mustangs when I got my license I went and bought a 2000 mustang brand new, the people at the dealer told my dad that, that was not a car for me, that he was putting my life and danger and that no 17 year old shoudl be driving a V8(personally, I think this is Bs), but my dad trusted me. he cosigned for me and I was on my way. Ever since i have gotten only 2 speding tickets one on the freeway at 11 at night when it was almost empty and the only person i was putting in danger was my self, the other was in some backstreets when a patrol car was hidding and cought me speeding once again I was not putting anyone in danger! with all this in mid I own a an 85 gt with 11,000 miles on the engine all put on by me, a 91 gt with 128,000 with about 30,000. put on by me, and my 2000 which I will always love with now 72,000. miles on it, Ive goone everywhere in these cars and i have no idea how a v4 feels nor do i care to find out. Anyways my point is if I paid for them and I pay for the gas why cant I do whatever I want with my cars, as long as I dont put anyone elses life but mine in danger I can peel of whenever I want. period!

Oh yes divo that sounds like a great idea ... go out to an isolated backroad and turn yourself into roadkill.... Completely screw up your car and your entire life .... Have you ever been in a rollover??? .... Do you enjoy the idea of spending 6 months in a hospital with #### sticking out of your arms in horrible pain.......Oh you do , well that is great have fun. Not to metion well the Emergency crew is out on some back road cutting you out of your car and helping your retarded *** they are vital minutes away from someone who actually needs help........ But you know what you are only hurting yourself so don't worry about.

Take a long look at this thread and just step back for a moment, ,i'm not saying anyting for or against your point of view, because you are entitled to it. Personally I prefer to race at the track, but hang around alot with a crowd that will pair up and go off to run on a back road.
What will notice that your inflamitory delivery takes away from your point, by acting immature and disrespectful you are only proving thier point to be true, try coming to the table like an adult.
Do you really think it makes you look smarter or feel like an adult to repeatedly barade people and work around the swear filter? You will find out eventually you will influence others and gain respect from them much quicker by defending your point tactfully.

Bought a brandnew GT at 17, must be nice . i think your blowin' alot of smoke ,... also if somebody had 3 mustangs , i think they would know that "V4" doesn't exist. If u do have a 2000gt great for you, but you probably got some "help" from the folks,,,
ps: if there are any grammer mistakes i appologize, because i know how "some-people" have issues with that.!!!

I find it unnecessary to put up some mature facade like the one you have going for you. Being so mature and ripe with wisdom, ever hear the saying, "Silence is golden."?..................well then stfu.
Or maybe to put it politely......No, no, I insist, fuq u Sir.

im an 18 year old. i will get a mustang next year to go to college. i dont have my licence yet. and i am thinking about getting a 05 mustang gt. does this fit the description of what yall are fighting about here. i may only be 18 but i have arround two years of driving on the road already. and i will addmit. i do like burnouts but not every stop sighn. and you would also go fast if you were in a hurry. i havent gotten a ticket so far and i hope i dont get one anytime soon. i have a question for yall. would yall rather have me in a mustang without any ground effects pushing 350hp or in a civic wasting 5k just to make look fast?
i have been into mustangs for a long time now, and i was wondering. why do people who have mustangs, v6s mostly, think they can race any other car and still win? just because you got a mustang doesnt mean that you are going to win.

I'VE DRIVEN BIG TRUCKS FOR THE LAST 13 YEARS AND I'VE TRAVELED ALL OF THE COUNTRY AND IN MY MILLION PLUS MILE PROFESSIONAL DRIVING CAREER, I CAN TELL YOU THAT MUST OF THE PEOPLE DRIVING OUT THERE SHOULD NOT HAVE A DRIVERS LICENCE. I'VE SEEN YOUNG AND OLD IN HONDAS, BUICKS, SUV'S, PICK-UPS, YOU NAME IT ALL DRIVE LIKE MORONS. THERE IS NO PLACE FOR BONE HEAD DRIVING ON THE STREET. I LIVE ABOUT 45 MILES FROM WILLOW SPRINGS RACEWAY AND EAR SHOUT DISTANCE FROM L.A.C.R. ( DRAGSTRIP ), I'M GONNA SAY PEOPLE BECAUSE I'VE SEEN FOLKS MY AGE DO THE SAME THING;GO AROUND TOWN CHERPING THEIR TIRES AT STOP LIGHTS. AS SOON AS THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN THEY THINK THEIR RACING JOHN FORCE OR SOMEBODY. TAKE THAT STUFF TO THE DRAGSTRIP OR TO THE RACEWAY. YOU HAVEN'T LIVED TILL YOU'VE SEEN DEAD BODIES OF CHILDREN LAYING IN THE ROAD WAY ALL BECAUSE SOME MORON JUST HAD TO SEE HOW FAST HIS CAR CAN GO.
