They're pretty hard sometimes. I'm 6'0", 235 pounds and they still fight me. All you can do is get a bigger breaker bar and hopefully you won't break the heads off. They could be rusted because some of them go into the water jackets and have sealer. Hopefully someone didn't put LokTight on them.

Yea really. I had to change a head on my 1979 F150 302 because I cracked one (oops)...and...they were a LITTLE hard to break loose..heh. :-) (Thank god though I had my old stocker heads from my Mustang that I easily swapped onto the truck...beings the engine in my truck happens to be a 5.0L HO motor out of an old Lincoln Town Car that burned to a crisp, hehe) Mr86GT

hi, if your talking about the head bolts try breaking them lose in sequence if you don't it could put the rest of the bolts in a bind.

when removing the head bolts there is sequence that they should be removed. of not removed in that order you can warp your heads. try tapping the heads of the bolts with a hammer. this will shock them and sometimes cause rust to bnrek loose. also try tighting the bolts slightly before remving them . when u get the bolt loose turn the bolt back and forth several times to help keep the bolt from hanging up and twisting causing the bolt to break.
