hello all, the kid wants a car. so ive been looking at the 2.3 liters mustangs. and finding a lot of them with a lot of miles (over 120-160). can these go the same distance as the 5.0 liters can they go 250+ miles????????????????? thanx

it all depends on how its been driven and how well maintained its been but 150 is usually when the well keeped ones start to go bad or having problems

I had an 88lx 2.3 with just over 200,000 and Ran Strong and perfect before i did the 5.0 swap. Thoughs 2.3 are indistruckable in my book! I would recommend the EFI 2.3 The carb ones run good still, but there more prone to having little problems.

Hi to answer your question, well my 1990 ford mustang is equiped with the 2.3L and its still running strong at 320+ kilometers no noises, or smoke the only thing i had to do to it was a fuel pump which run me $150. I hope that helps.

I raced the same engine for 4 yrs (circle track), they have a high nickel content and can take a beating! If it needs a rebuild its a get project you can do together!!
