Hello experts,
While beginning a family cruise, I noticed a very strong gas odor. After rapid evacuation, I found gas leaking from the rubber lines connecting the gas tank (pump outlet) to the solid metal lines that travel up the length of the car, and dripping on the exhaust (!) The two high pressure lines seemed to rub and cause the failure. My question is where would I find a replacment part without breaking the bank?? Ford has one for $150 and parts stores say to piece a repair in, which Im not real keen on. Anybody have this type of failure?? And if so.. how'd the fix go??
Vehicle info:1989 mustang notch, 5.0, 5 speed with many mods.
Thanks alot for any info.

just replacing the line with another one from ford could just land u that same problem down the line again. you can probably find a braided stainless steel line for you vehicle. make sure the line is fuel able becuase these are made for many different purposes. you can usually pick one up for a decent price.
