I've been having a bit of a belt problem lately with my 01' GT. Whenever I shift at about 5500-Redline the belt will warp and hit the timing cover on the left bank. You can see on the cover where the belt has been hitting. I thought that a new belt would do the trick, but it still does it. I thought about trying underdrive pulleys, but I don't know if it will work or not. Does anyone have any information relating to this issue? My Ford Sr. Master Technician looked into it, but found nothing that Ford recommended. So I'm kinda lost right now. Please help!!!

I would check the idler pulley and the belt tensioner lets make certain the are straight and true. if the are not tracking straight that will cause that problem. I am suprised that the Ford SR. master tech did not pick up on that. Ford had a TSB on that a few years ago!!
