I would like to know if it is difficult to swap a 95 mustangs 302 for a 351c. I know that the engines are both small blocks and share very similar engine mounts. But are special engine mounts needed?
I am asking this because a friend offered to sell me a 351 cleveland in great condidion for under $200. I realize that if I do get the engine to sit under the hood that I would have to mate the components in the engine compartment to the 351c. But will I have to spend a large amount of money to accomplish this?
If you dont mind send tell me your opinions and info on this swap.
Thanks

Personally, I wouldn't hassle with the conversion to a Cleveland motor. I'd stick with the Windsor's
Are you just trying to get more cubes......or torque?

Well, the engine blocks are not the same. The 351 Cleveland is called a "chubby block" or "fat block" the Cleveland is not a small block or a big block. it's basiclly between the two like a 351 M. You could probably find a mounting kit to have a Cleveland placed in but. it is not a direct fit(Cleveland is one of my favorate blocks). If you can find a 351 windsor that (I believe is a direct fit) is the easies to swap. Myself and a friend dropped a 351w in a 83 Mustang and had no problem, direct fit (we might have had to changed the oil pan) we won all the street races we raced with the vets. Good luck with the swap. The Cleveland is an oustanding motor, a little heavy but nice. The thing to remember on Clevelands is if it has a 2v or 4v heads.
