i have a question, i have a 2003 gt , and i have very few mods, cold air intake and flowmaster exhaust with 2 1/2 " pipes ran all the way , i was juat wondering what would be the next mod that i would see the most performance out of, i dont have supercharger money yet but i have a few dollars to play with, i was going to get a performance tuner bit i dont know what was the best one to buy, i need more speed at least till im don saving for my charger, i raced a harley davidson f150 the other night and barley beat him, so i was just wandering basically what would be the best thing for me to buy next that does not cost a arm and a leg

First should be a set of 4:10 gears. Either the DiabloSport or the Predator are good tuners and you'll need one of them to recalibrate the speedo for the gears. Then get a timing adjuster. Both will work really well.

Any of the aftermarket companies like Ford Racing, Richmond, Pro 5.0 or others are really good parts. The 4:10's wouldn't take away too much on the top end unless you're hitting the NASCAR scene. For a street car it won't be enough to worry about. At cruising speed it rev about 200-300 rpm more than the 3:73's so it won't affect gas mileage any more either. If you do a lot of long distance highway driving the 3:73's would be the better choice to reduce the wear and tear on the engine.

well i shopped aroung on the net and bought some motive 4:10 gears , they claimed to be every bit as good as the ford racing gears , at least that is what mustang tuning said , i hope i made a good choice, i went to a local shop and they charge 300 bucks to do the job if any one else is wondering what it should cost , now i just cant wait to get them , should i wait to buy a tuner to get the gears installed?

You'll need the tuner to set the speedo as soon as you have the gears installed and $300 sounds alright but a little on the high side though. Motive Gear are good parts so don't worry about that.

It should ask you very simple yes or no questions so you could actually do this yourself, even the power programs. If you're not comfortable with that, $65 isn't too bad but that would be about 3 tank fulls of gas.
